You will do fine.

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle

The first time I proposed, I did it over the phone from about 600 miles away.

The marriage did not last.  :thatsright:

Post a picture of the ring!

My husband just asked me in the living room of my parents house. I will remember it for the rest of my life. 25 years later, I would do it all over again.  Where and how he asked wasn't as important than the fact that he asked and has been an awesome husband.

Give us a play by play when you get a chance.

Same here. Called from Georgia to Minnesota. I did a second proposal at the spot of our first date. Marriage didn't last but 24 yrs.
It is said that branches draw their life from the vine. Each is separate yet all are one as they share one life giving stem . The Bible tells us we are called to a similar union in life, our lives with the life of God. We are incorporated into him; made sharers in his life. Apart from this union we can do nothing.

I proposed to my wife while we were having an argument, driving to one set of parents (can't remember which set) place on Christmas Eve of 1999, in my old Jeep Cherokee.  The next morning, she realized what had happened.  I dind't have the ring for a while, though (about another year).  I knew pretty much from about the three-month mark of us dating that I had found my future wife.  We'll hit 11 years in June.

I just dropped her off and now I am officially engaged I was not nervous as I thought I was going to be.

Here is how I did it we dropped the boys off and I made a big deal about how Lewis (my little brother) didn't have his glove when he left the field tonight so we had to go back to get it.

Well we got to the park and I asked her to check in the dugout while I checked the bleachers while she was I made a big deal about looking all over the bleachers.

I asked her if she saw it she said no and I then yelled I found it I think and I said boy this place sure brings back some great memories didn't it? She grinned and said yes it did.

I said too bad I think that it was too bad that I just could not date her anymore she said why are you breaking up with me?

I said well not really I got down on my knee and said what I told you all here. I had the ring in the palm of the glove and when I finished she was crying her eyes out and she said she would be proud to be everything I asked her.

On a side bar note Gina and Deb K your suggestions were great and she love them she said she can't wait to join here because everyone here rocks!!

So once again thank you to everyone I am so very greatful and engaged to the best girl in the world :yahoo:
