I have the LG500G and I still use it mostly for calls and only occasionally use it to upload a picture to Facebook.

Same here.  I expect it to make phone calls, nothing more.

If you look at CC on your iPhone, get "Tapatalk." It makes things much easier!

I just use a plain Jane/Joe cell phone. I make and receive calls, That's good enough for me. I could send or receive txt msgs but I don't use my phone for that.
It is said that branches draw their life from the vine. Each is separate yet all are one as they share one life giving stem . The Bible tells us we are called to a similar union in life, our lives with the life of God. We are incorporated into him; made sharers in his life. Apart from this union we can do nothing.

BTW thundley, what browser are you using on the 500G? Tracfone and Net 10's browsers stink, but I was able to install Mini-Opera on both of our phones, and I also downloaded a browser called Bolt on mine.

I haven't added any browser. I think I accessed Facebook once and just used whatever was installed on the phone.

Oh OK, if you want to surf the net just download Mini-Opera and or Bolt, it's less aggravation.

I don't see how you guys can live with those old phones. There are so many apps that make daily life WAY easier. I have recipes, maps, Wikipanion, Tapa for the board, Gas Buddy, it has GPS, any game you want, a HD and Lowes App, Amazon, Pageonce for bill pay/financial management, youtube, a calculator (you can download a TON of various calculators), it's an MP3 player, news channels, sports, etc. I couldn't live without this thing now.

I can actually do a lot with my pre-pay phone, we got rid of Verizon about 10 years ago and I love not getting a monthly bill.

I used to use bolt on my curve, I really liked it.

But I literally couldn't live without my iPhone.

If we were big cellphone users then I might have to re-think a prepaid plan, but we're really not, we use the phone once in a while, and text once in a while, and I usually just browse the net when we're in the car.

I use the iPhone for work, typically around 900 minutes a month. Plus several GB's of data and nearly 1,500 texts.

It's all just fluff to create the illusion of making life easier. Granted I didn't realize exactly how much I counted on my computer for doing things until I didn't have a working computer to to those things but I was still able to perform those tasks.

People are becoming slaves to technology. No one talks anymore, go to the bank or grocery store or whatever. No one is talking to anyone around them everyone is glued to their phones. Are they trading stocks & bonds where secs could mean hundreds or thousands of dollars,no they are playing games or talking gossip with someone on the other end. People are spending $50 , $75 , $100 or more a month for a damn phone then complaining a loaf of bread cost $ 2
