Reminds me of a funny story from my days as a nursing student. I went to catheterize a female patient, and had the area swabbed with betadine and the labia spread wide apart with my left hand just like I'm supposed to. Well, some women's urethras are right on the border of the vaginal orifice, and instead of passing the catheter into the urethra, I missed and slipped it down into the vagina. Of course it was then contaminated and I needed a new one, and of course, I had only brought one, so the instructor runs out to get a new one.

Now all I can think of is, if I move my hand, I will have broken sterile technique and will have to start all over. And I cannot look this woman in the eye or I might do something stupid like laugh. And what kind of small talk do you make in a situation like that? So here we are alone, both looking up at Jeopardy or whatever the geez was on the TV, both pretending I didn't have my hand halfway in this poor lady's coochie. Talk about one of life's awkward moments. It probably only took the instructor two minutes to get back but it seemed like an hour. I'm just glad her husband didn't walk in about that time. She was a good sport throughout the whole thing though.  :-)

I guess you had to be there.  :o

No worse than a chatty lab tech trying to make small talk while you're getting barium sulfate shot into your glutial cleft.  "So, what brings you here?"  "My ass wanted a milk shake, I thought I'd tag along."

This is a thread I can sink my teeth into.

I don't know about that, it's a tough thread, it can take a licking.
There were only two options for gender. At last count there are at least 12, according to libs. By that standard, I'm a male lesbian.

It's such a good thing I'm no longer in the Navy anymore.  I've always wondered if I could make someone puke through a keyboard.

Fortunately for you good people, I no longer feel the need to test that skill.

Just don't google "Blue Waffle" whatever you do.

Hey, I hear the evil rich liberal Hollyweird one percenters pay people to actually shoot wine and coffee and other stuff up their rectum...now, when I get to old or lazy to take my  alcohol and caffeine the old fashioned way....just shoot me.

God reason for that medically speaking.

Story presented in Nursing school came from a Readers Digest on how a family in the Pacific with loss of motor survived.  Family with 3 children, one boy of 7-8 years old had his throat swell up and could not swallow.  His mother a nurse kept him alive by shoving food and water into his rectum and the intestines absorbed the nutriments.

More then one way to skin a cat.

Now for my Nursing story, I went to school after I had all 4 kids and was the oldest in my class.  When Catheter training came about with living people I marched into a room  with 3 other much younger students with some poor man old and gray and as this was a teaching hospital agreed to be a Ginnie pig of sorts.  I think the old dude just got off on having the younger females handle his privates.

So once the sheets were removed I did a double take, What was wrong with that thing, I was no stranger at that point to the male man hood but I had never seen a male in real time that was uncircumcised.  I was flat out fascinated with the look and  the action to exposing the place to put in the Catheter.

I was under the impression that all males in the USof A were circumcised and this was a bit or surprise and fascination  to me.  It was later on working in Nursing homes that the men born in the 1920's or before, those that were home birthed unless Jewish came in uncut.

Today I hear the Gay comunity value these uncut individuals as they are so rare to find.

Interesting topic, both medical, and a statement on how society's differ.

Where the flora go, the fauna are sure to follow.
