*sigh*  We have too much shade, can't grow anything worth a damn.    :(

Then I guess you won't have to worry about tomatoes then.  Those need full sun.

I love you but that is WAY too much work. :p

I'll do some bell peppers and cherry tomatoes I thinks.  Wonder how hard it is to do red sweet onion?

I've grown onions, and they were easy to grow, but they never got very big.  You just buy the seed onions at the nursery and plant them :-)

Snap peas and green beans are good for backyard gardens too.

Spinach, it will put hair on your chest, among other good reasons.
There were only two options for gender. At last count there are at least 12, according to libs. By that standard, I'm a male lesbian.

We tried the lettuce--for some reason didn't work out so hot.  But peas?  Yeah, gonna have to do those.

But I can't even break out the hothouse yet for a few more weeks, and won't be able to plant until late April/early May.

Right about the time we break out the pool and order a truckload of water.

My masochistic wife still tries. We set up an area on the west side of the house with some pavers (the ground is like duff so everything sinks in it) because of the sun exposure. I bought an "Early Girl" in a 5 gallon bucket at Lowes, the plant was 3 ft. tall. The fruit looked more like plum tomatoes than anything else by the time they ripened. Damn good, but if we got a dozen I'd be surprised.
