Omaha Steve filed as a candidate today for Ward I

http://www.sarpy.com/election/2010_candidates.html

I can't tell you about the surprise I have for my opponent (Fs & company will be reading this) for some time. My web page (won't go up for 3-4 weeks) will have everything before the Presidential Caucus on Saturday, April 14, 2012. I should start accepting donations through PayPal in the next few days.

Whoa.

Good news.

But notice, please, my fellow Nebraskan's more concerned with "accepting donations" than he is with outlining a platform.

This is great.

Now we got two primitives from Skins's island running for office.

Chief Crying Bull, for city council in Bellevue, Nebraska, and Asher Heimermann, for state assembly in Wisconsin.

This should be a fun campaign season.

I wonder who paid Omaha Steve's $110 filing fee.

You know my fellow Nebraskan doesn't pay for something himself if he can get out of it.

Come to think of it, unions do create jobs. Companies have to hire two workers to do the work of one.

It's early yet.

They have until March 1, 2012, to file.

Well of course he is more worried about fund raising, the amount of donations will determine the outline of his platform.

But really, he's got to work on a platform; a platform that can win for him.

Such as lowering taxes, getting government off people's backs, reining in the public-sector unions, cutting bureaucracy, respecting the military, &c., &c., &c.--you know, those things voters in Bellevue want to hear.

He would actually have to study issues, review policies, and generally.... put thought and effort into it.

When is the last time you knew a DUmmie put effort into accomplishing something other than holding their hand out?

I will admit, I'm surprised he actually came through for us, and for the primitives.

I didn't think he'd really file; since he hadn't mentioned the topic lately, I thought he was hoping the primitives, given their short-term memories, would've forgotten that he'd promised to run.

Way to go, Omaha Steve, old pal old buddy--this is going to be fun.

I wonder how this is going to end?  Will the citizens of Bellevue elect a known socialist?

Will his own words come back to haunt him?  Will posts at the DUmp get the scrub?

So many questions, if only their were an unbiased reporter at the DUmp willing to get into the trenches.

Well, I know nothing about Bellevue Ward 1, except that the incumbent is a Republican.

It may be telling that the democrat party so far hasn't been able to get a normal person to run in that ward.

They'll either recruit a candidate between now and the deadline, or concede it to the Republican by running a weirdo loser like the Omaha Weeper.

It just doesn't seem like a ward that will look kindly on an opponent who's in print saying he has always supported socialism.

Bellevue's population is only 6% black. Unless they all vote in Ward 1, the Weeper is toast.

Does he even have any money to run ads and stuff? To send postcards in the mail extolling the virtues of Marxism?

He should recreate the Gravel ad from 2007.

There should be no problem getting money to put his famous socialism quote on signs and bumper stickers.

I think the Weeper is trying to channel Pelosi:
Quote
Pelosi obliquely referenced those comments with CNN’s John King Tuesday night. King suggested to Pelosi that she could return next year and Gingrich could be the new president. "Let me just say this. That will never happen," Pelosi replied. “There's something I know.

Thanks Chris, I didn't do my proper research before posting. :-)

I'm guessing poor Omaha Steve won't even make it for the entire campaign.
