DSL Modem
« on: November 06, 2011, 08:47:21 AM »
I was trying to open ports on the Speedstream 4600 that Aliant sends out to people but they basically cripple it so you can't do anything with it. By the end of the night I ended up with it broken and no internet.

I don't wish to wait the 2 or 3 days to get a new one so I'm wondering if any DSL modem could replace it. All it needs to do is login via PPPoE from what I know, or do I have to use the one Aliant sent me?

I don't know much about this sort of thing other then I want to get this fixed.

I think you can use any DSL modem.
