Black dye.

Srsly, pretty much nothing. On the bright side it's a towel, so what. It's not a dinner jacket.

I would recommend color safe bleach versus straight bleach. I would gently dab it on little by little till you have the desired effect, too much at once would burn and it will turn yellow.

It's a leftover from my Haze Gray and underway days. I only own white towels & washcloths.

Fresh blood, cold water and salt can help.  Stain remover will help some, if you let it sit a while, but it won't get it all if the blood has been there for hours.

I think I have one or two of those left, but they are mostly gray since they are well over twenty years old.  My wife keeps them way back in the linen closet.

I don't have any of my Navy towels left, but I did develop a preference for white towels/ washcloths. Nothing better than a clean, white towel that is soft and smells a little of  bleach, IMO.

I agree completely!  I have all white towels as well.  But, I have used every remedy under the sun, and have never been successful getting blood out of a towel.  Get on up to Anna's Linen's.  I am sure they have one up there and buy a new one.  Congratulations, you have a new shop towel!

Now, about the blood???  You ok?

Depends on how much. Was it from a simple cut or did you kill someone? If the latter I recommend burning the evidence, it always works for me.

No, in all seriousness, I had a scab on my knee from a previous laceration (that's a "cut" for you simpletons*. You KNOW who you are!!) Anyways, I hit my healing knee on a sharp corner of the desk. It hurt a little, but not terribly bad.  I looked down and I was bleeding profusely (like a stuck pig*) There was a pool of blood on the floor and a stream of blood running down my shin. The nearest absorbent material was a washcloth, which I had used to wipe my sweaty brow. I cleaned up  my shin and then the floor with it. I then went to locate a few band-aids and applied them to the wound.

Hydrogen peroxide?
"Liberalism is an essentially feminine, submissive world view. Perhaps a better adjective than feminine is infantile. It is the world view of men who do not have the moral toughness, the spiritual strength to stand up and do single combat with life, who cannot adjust to the reality that the world is not a huge, pink-and-blue, padded nursery in which the lions lie down with the lambs and everyone lives happily ever after."

I've heard that OxyClean is just dehydrated hydrogen peroxide.  I have a tub and never got it to clean like I expected.

Scott shop towels?  Those things are good for picking up blood.

Had a huge wart on my finger that I decided to cut off with a razor blade.  Man, did that thing bleed.  I ended up going to a doctor and having it cauterized with a little soldering-iron type thing.

Let it soak in some peroxide, after it soaks for a while wash out the peroxide with cold water NOT HOT WATER, then add it into the whites of the laundry, you can add hot water at that point, add bleach and oxy clean.

BTW peroxide is a trick the medical profession uses, everyone at some point gets blood on them.

OMG! don't ever do that to a wart, or a skin tag, those things don't stop bleeding at all on their own.

Ummm, NO, I'm NOT an Army type!!

Obviously.  We generally develop a preference for brown or tan towels.  Well...except for the French Army - they like to have something white handy to tie to a pole (They can't use their rifles for that since they went to a bullpup design years ago).

Speaking of skin tags, my husband had one. He went to the doctor to have two moles biopsied.  The doctor told him to tie some thread around the base of the skin tag and in about a week it would fall off.  It turned all black and gross and fell off just like he said. You can't even tell where it was.

It cuts off the blood supply so it'll fall off, can't believe Doctor's actually tell people to do that though on their own.
