One great thing about the dump, showing threads from there to mostly rational left leaning folk results in "Full Conversion".  I usually mention things like "you are known by the company you keep", and "these folk truths are stranger than fiction."   :-)

JFK couldn't get elected as a democrat in today's political climate.

I never liked him but I wasn't old enough to vote for him, so it doesn't matter what I thought. My mother liked him.

I think some people on DU dont realise that their fellow Duers come to sites such as this to join in the laughter at some of the posts made on DU.  Whereas on DU if you tell peg her poetry should be printed on toilet paper in the dysentry ward of the local hospital, or nads that she comes across as a lush with a cassandra complex, or dougs ex wife that she is trailer trash in every real sense of the term, you know you will be banned in a heartbeat, so CC is a safe place to come for the more normal DUers to laugh it up at the expense of the DUmmies who regularly post on DU.  I know my wife who is a long time Duer routinely converses with many others on DU rofling about the antics and posts of some of the idiots on there.
