I put chicken pieces in brine--Ginger Ale for perhaps 6 hours.

Steam the chicken parts for 15 minutes.  Remove and cool off.

Place the suckers in a fry pan and just brown the skin.

Remove and place in a plastic bag with lemon slices  and refrigerate for 6 hours of so.

Spices, Tyme, salt and pepper added when the chicken is removed from the bowl the bag was dumped into.

On to either a grill or the oven, a lemon and butter can be used at this time or a store bought BBQ mix.-------One can also use a fry pan to finish the cooking on stove top.

Reading this Vesta, reminds me of a way I did chicken for grilling - ONE time only!!! a long time ago when I was first married.

I parboiled it, then marinated it with lemon slices, pepper, garlic powder, and must have used Wesson oil ( I don't remember using any other type of oil back in those days), then grilled it with some bbq-type sauce that I made.

I remember it was good, but I don't think I ever made it again. I'd forgotten all about it, until you mentioned the way you make it. That's was 34 years ago!! :thatsright:

Brining poultry of all types really goes a long way in keeping the meat moist, even after grilling.

Going low and slow helps, but even that doesn't work with keeping the breast meat moist. Brining is the answer, though I don't always have time for that except when doing a whole turkey.

So untrue. :naughty:  :rotf: :rotf: :rotf:

Did some chicken (whole cut up) last night with the Teriyaki marinade. No sweaty breasts. Besides, I prefer heaving breasts.   :naughty:

Getting that quality known as heaving breasts requires a special technique that transcends cooking.  :evillaugh:

Banana bread and cream cheese... never, ever heard of it.  Not sure how I feel about that.

I love a slice of toasted pound cake.  Can't be beat.

I am not sure everyone in this thread got my banana bread reference.  So, I had to return this thread to its pristine condition and relocate my banana {bread}. :whistling:
Oh, wow, I could go on with THAT theme, too. :lmao:
