Android Issue
« on: March 25, 2011, 02:10:07 PM »
:banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Everything was working fine, I updated the App Market and now I can't connect to my router, it tells me the signal is great and I'm showing 3 out of 3 bars on the Android. It's an Archos43 if that helps.

BTW I'm sooooooo mad at hubby, he normally takes care of crap like this but because I was sneaky and bought this and haven't been able to tell him yet I'm stuck trying to figure this crap out myself! :bawl:

Because I can't ask him to do it for me and I'm getting aggravated trying to fix it myself.

Did a frigging re-install and it's not working! :bawl:

Is it a password protected network?? I know ZIP about Androids, but I'd be willing to bet that there's a network settings tool someplace in there. I'd suggest you re-enter that network encryption key and see if that works.

Even though the router was working, for some reason I decided to unplug it and plug it back in and now the Android is working!

Thank You Thor, I'll copy and paste what you posted for future reference.

What do you think happened? why did it work after I unplugged then plugged in the router?

I'm so mad at him that I couldn't ask for his help. I have to tell him on Sun. because this is ridiculous sneaking around with the Android. I went out for an hour this afternoon to see if I could get a signal and somehow I went into a store and walked out with 2 new handbags and a wallet, see, if I didn't have to sneak around with the Android I would never of bought those things. :-)

Your Android was probably looking for an IP and the one that was in there wasn't valid or something. Hard to get too specific without seeing the router & the Android together.
