Hmmm, this is odd.  I'm a Conservative sitting here taking a break from volunteer work at a battered woman's shelter in Dallas (can be confirmed by a mod or admin).  Where are these DUmmies typing from?

DH and I saw a disabled vehicle on the road and were the only ones to stop to help him. His vehicle was covered in DUmmy style bumper stickers and he got a good look at our Sportsmen For Bush sign in the back window as we left. :-)

I've seen a couple of people burn to death trapped in a car. It ain't something I want to see again and I'd do all I could to get them out.

The first I saw was when I was a teenager. I'll spare y'all the details. Before he finally died he begged people to shoot him, "...give me your knife, anything." That was 50 years ago and when I think about it, I can still hear him scream.

The only one I ever witnessed first hand was a trucker who got cut off on the freeway between LA and Riverside. Back then, there wasn't a damn thing but a Sambo's restaraunt between the two. He got jackknifed and went over the side and got trapped. It was a gasoline tanker about half full!

I was on my scooter and stopped to see if there was anything I could do. The cops showed up about the time me and another got down to where the wreck was and wouldn't let anyone near the thing because they were afraid it would blow sky high. I'll never forget that guy beggin' the cop to at least toss him his gun! "If ya won't shoot me, for the love of God throw me your gun"!!!

That's about the time he started screamin'! I heard those screams in my nightmares for weeks!!! If I'd a been packin' at the time, I sure as hell would have tossed him my piece, even if it meant goin' to jail!

I heard later the ME said he died from the smoke inhalation before the fire got to him. BULL ****IN' SHIT!!!!

I should mention the cop that he was talkin' to, broke down on the back of his car and was inconsolable! I felt damn near as sorry for him as the guy in the truck!
