The late red round one knew he was dying as long ago as October-November 2004, and knew it for a certainty by February 2005, three months before the Scamdal.

sfexpat2000, Doug's stupid ex-wife, was having considerable financial difficulties at the time.

The late red round one was notorious for his practical jokes, and perhaps even under the Shadow of Death felt an urge to continue on as he had (this is not unusual), as if he wasn't terminal.

The only oddity here is that sfexpat2000 and the late red round one had never met in real life; it was an internet "friendship."

But anyway, suppose there was agreed to be a fund-raiser, so he could continue his practical joking, and she could get out from under intense financial pressure--his parting "gift" to her, one could say.

The money would be collected, and then divided up between the two.

However, the plan was thought only halfway through (as usually is the case with the primitives); all of the funds were sent directly to the late red round one, who died a little bit sooner than had been expected, from an infection.

All the monies in the late red round one's hands of course ended up in the estate (beneficiary unknown).....or.....or.....or because they were such good pals and buddies and "wedded" partners, the "termite" primitive had access to all of the late red round one's passwords and records, and managed to swipe the cash, in case he wasn't the beneficiary of the estate (the late red round one's ancient mother was then still alive).

It's possible the "termite" primitive absconded to Costa Rica or the Dominican Republic with all the cash.

Leaving sfexpat2000 high and dry, minus her cut, still in considerable financial difficulties.

In the DUmmy world $50,000 (in the unlikely event that much was actually collected) would appear to be an inexhaustible windfall - the kind of bankroll that would lead to a lifetime of leisure on an exotic tropical beach, sipping an unending series of umbrella drinks, with evenings spent at the high rollers' table in a nearby casino. At least that's how it might seem to "termite", the best ever nickname for a queer boyfriend.
