What's for Christmas Dinner??
« on: December 21, 2010, 03:16:57 PM »
Here, we're having a prime rib roast (bone in) and some assorted goodies. I intend on making some fudge beforehand and then probably a Pecan Pie.

No idea, but if it stays true to form we'll have ham, turkey, gravy, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, and various tasty dessert items.

Possibly a bone-in rib roast.  I don't have any plans at the moment.

If I hadn't already Hi5'd Thor, I would BS you for being a smarty pants.   :whatever:

Guys, I am going to my BF's sister's house.  Home of stuffing from a box, pie filling from a can.  For them, it is wonderfully beautiful.  For me, it is one step away from take-out.  I offer every year to bring something, but they are stuck in tradition.  The tradition of the bland.

Using the immortal words of John Paul Jones, "I have not yet begun to bitchslap."

Take your nap. Then wake up to lots more bitchslaps at your doorstep.

If you dare......

Lasagna and antipasto with all imported ingredients. I know a guy to drives to Little Italy 3 times a week. :yum:
"Liberalism is an essentially feminine, submissive world view. Perhaps a better adjective than feminine is infantile. It is the world view of men who do not have the moral toughness, the spiritual strength to stand up and do single combat with life, who cannot adjust to the reality that the world is not a huge, pink-and-blue, padded nursery in which the lions lie down with the lambs and everyone lives happily ever after."

Stuffing from a box can be great. I just takes a little effort.

http://www.ehow.com/how_7851_make-baked-stuffing.html

It's the effort part that they don't care for.  I made homemade cranberry chutney last year, and brought it on bf's request.  He doesn't like the canned jelly.  They didn't like the homemade, it didn't even make it to the table.  But there was that jiggly canned jelly.

Their loss. I love to spend time in the kitchen making food. Growing up, that's where the family gathered when big meals were being made. And I've yet to meet too many ladies who can mtch my cooking skills. Must be looking in the wrong places. :-)
