...is actually tempting me to go buy a PS3, for just this one game!

Why not the PC version?
According to the Bible, "know" means "yes."

Anyone else playing this right now?  Sheer sweet awesomeness.  They may take game of the year again with this.

Why not the PC version?

My desk top is an Apple, and I'm currently not running the OS parallel with Windows.  Might be worth investigating though.

I steamed myself a copy of this last night.

Gonna crack it open and give it a test later after yard chores.  :-)

I've got it. It's still in the wrapping, though.  :(

Up for a review yet?  I'm likely going to pick up a PS3 and the game this weekend, I picked up the strategy guide last night to review the Perks and such.

I like it. In terms of game play it's nearly identical to fallout 3. The addition of factions has made things more interesting. The graphics aren't notably better than in 3 , and the engine is starting to look a little dated compared to something like say STALKER C.O.P.  Locations aren't as large or as complicated as most of the content in 3 either.

Crafting and repair of items is far better in NV and one can produce ammo which makes life a lot easier.

When I get sick of going around the world looting for good weapons and finish it I'll have more to say.

Finally opened it and I am just now near the end of wrapping up my business in Good Springs and moving out.

Just pissed off the Legion by killing everyone in their camp after releasing a prisoner to see what would happen.  ::)

Gotta go back to a manual save now. Have yet to complete their missions for XP.

:censored: bugs! I can't enter the New Vegas Strip on my game now. It just goes blank and the Auto-Save says "Corrupt".

Try teleporting in via the console (this counts as cheating so if successful you'll have to save once you get in there and exit/restart the game to reset that)- or revert to a earlier save (I assume you create saves at major points in the game and don't rely entirely on the autosave...).

I've been too distracted playing Borderlands to get around to completing New Vegas.

Yeah, I have a dozen or so manual saves on there. I tried using one already with the same result. I'll have to backtrack on all of them until one works.

The backtracking worked, but I lost about 20% of my completed advancements in the game.

About 50% completed now. Have found 2 unique weapons so far and going for the Tesla-cannon prototype at the Crashed Vertibird site soon.

Be prepared for some mean-spirited robots!  That was one of the few fun and challenging battles I've had so far.  The other was the Death Claw Horde across the river.

I completed that, the Deathclaw Valley thing and Dead Wind Cavern. I mined the hell out of the chamber passageway with Plasma Mines and C4 blocks, hit a Stealth Boy and Turbo up, launched 2 Mini Nukes into the chamber, backed out and switched to the Tesla-Beaton Prototype and let HIM approach me.

I still haven't made it to Dead Wind Cavern, or adventures on the strip for that matter.  In the Death Claw Valley place, I actually managed to climb onto a ridge, that they couldn't reach, and used the Gobi Sniper Rifle to take all of them out.  This game rocks though, I just wish I had more time to play!
