Gigantic spider's web discovered in Madagascar

A newly discovered species of spider living in Madagascar makes the world's longest known web, spanning 25m.

The spider also makes the largest orb web yet found for any spider, and constructs it out of the most tough biomaterial yet known, say scientists.

Interesting that this species was discovered in Madagascar.  I believe that I've read in a science journal somewhere that Madagascar is home to 30% of the species on earth, 80% of which exist nowhere else on the planet but the island.......

Actually I see a huge government grant on the way.

The article mentioned that the spider may deconstruct the web each night, so where does it go?

Can these bugs be farmed for the web material, for tents, boat sails, light weight vests for our troops, rope, shoes and boots, a million uses here.

The Chinese started the fashion of people wearing worm slime we call it silk.

I am sure that the people that grew up around these things are most glad that some of the creatures on the American Continent are not around them.
