Neither housing nor medicine are dependent upon oil. Brick existed long, long before oil, for example. Many great medical discoveries happened before we became dependent upon oil.

These fear tactics and extortion attempts have no place in serious discussions about this issue.

This absurd idea that we must accept everything about modern society, or else we will have nothing, could be used to defend every sort of horror and injustice and destruction. It is so used.

All thinking people should reject this line of argument.

no, its just that needlecast and his ilk are the type of posters i was when i posted at the dump.  i never was a troll or a mole, i just questioned them and called them on their bullshit, always staying within the rules.

du tolerates that behavior for a while.  in my case almost 3 years and over 3000 posts.  but eventually, when every post gets an automatic alert just because it is a post by you, then you get "za'ed."

i suppose it didn't help that i never contributed one penny to that site.

and, truth be told, toward the end i was so bored and tired of their idiotic ideas that i pushed and pushed and pushed just to see just what it would take to get banned.

in the end, on a drunken evening, i was done in because a mod didn't like my op and deleted it.  well i wasn't going to stand for that so i posted it again.  and it was deleted.  we did this 4 or 5 times and i was through.

At one point he said he fertilizes his "farm" with turkey manure.
That would mean he would need an enormous number of birds and all of them penned or housed.
