8,000 miles on the summer car and now weird problem.

She vibrates at 45 mph, not bad ,but enough to cause concern.

Dealership tells us it is caused by break drums in the rear.

For some reason they want us to wait until the breaks wear out to be able to remove the break drums.

Question, is this darn car safe to drive.?

Just to rule out other problems, take a look at the rear tires. See if there's any kind of bulging in the side wall(s). Brake problems usually show up when you apply the brakes. A shimmy could be a damaged tire or a wheel weight that came off so that the tire is unbalanced.
