Separation of Mosque & State?? I wonder when this deal was made?

http://carter.house.gov/index.cfm?sectionid=40&parentid=6&sectiontree=&itemid=1228

WASHINGTON, DC) – The Virginia mosque of the radical Islamic cleric Anwar al-Awlaki, credited as the key link behind the Fort Hood shootings, the Christmas Day underwear bomber, and the Times Square bomber, has been receiving $23,000 a month from the U.S. Census Bureau for rent of an office building the mosque owns in the Washington suburbs.

“I wonder do we actually even have a Department of Homeland Security,” says Congressman John Carter (R-TX), who represents the Fort Hood area in the House. “The purpose for creating this cabinet-level agency in 2002 was to coordinate all agencies of the federal government to prevent any more radical Islamic attacks like 9-11. Eight years later and they can’t even tell a federal agency they’re renting office space from the very mosque involved with the 9-11 attacks, and that has seeded this past year’s assaults through the likes of Al-Awlaki.”

The former Texas judge says the mosque’s terrorist links could have been easily detected through a DHS background check by the General Services Administration (GSA), which leased the space for the Census Bureau.

“We missed multiple warnings that the 9-11 attacks were coming because federal agencies were not communicating and coordinating with each other concerning intelligence on terrorist activity,” says Carter. “DHS was supposed to correct that, yet they have failed us three times in a row in less than a year, are refusing to admit their failures, and are taking no corrective action.”

Carter says the President should immediately take responsibility for the failures and announce definitive steps to remediate the gross incompetence

Could this deal have been made AFTER the shooting to mollify the local Muslims? How many other mosques have such deals with the government?

Will you guys quit blaming the Government on everything.

It is not the  "Government" to blame but the INDIVIDUALS that buy into their place within the Government that are to blame.

It is the money, that perverts the law makers.

Say for instance I were to win a $100,000 after taxes lottery.   Instead of buying down payments for my kids homes or sending grand kids to college I invested 3/4 of the money into state politics.

Small towns, good place to start.  $1,000 to help some one on the town council or a Sherriff running for office.

Planning and design board, zoning and town mayor.    What fun, I can walk into a town I have never been in before and influence their lives on a whim.

All money I spend is tax deductable so if I hit 20 small towns I will have some pull for a few bucks, after taxes.  Say I hit 30 towns, now the state Government will take notice.

More fun, now the lower State Elected will want to wine and dine me, everything comes off my taxes,    Every $100.00 I spend will cost me $40.00 .

So the Governors or State Senator's take notice.  Gee what can I get passed for $5,000, can I request land leases for mineral rights?   Can I suggest the state except a high bid from a private company to do state work that I have a piece of the company.???

To do all this one must expect the opposition to research ones life from birth to today.  I have no fear, I have lived a law abiding life, if one finds any black marks on me it will be from enjoying life too much.

As I think about it, I could with carefull planning and allot of home work do this on less then $10,000-----So can anyone out there unless you try to hit big city Government.

Keep it small, work your way up following the law, keep your nose clean and remain anonymous and on the side line.  Ones self and family needs to be above approach, if a family member acts out and deals drugs, well, don't advertise the fact.   Opposition finds out, no problem, I am sure the opposition has family members that if not themselves but family members that have done worse.

Our Government is fine it is the individuals controlling it that cause all these problems.

NO. It cost you $100. Doesn't matter that you can call it an expense and "NOT" pay taxes on that $100....you're still out $100.

Why, or where, did people get the idea that if you can write it off your taxes it doesn't cost you anything.

Then why do the democrats want to redistribute wealth from the producers to those who will not earn it? That makes people dependent on government for money which gives the lawmakers a measure of power. As FGL said, it's love of money (more specifically money that does not need to be earned), not money itself.
Those who would trade their liberty for temporary security will get neither. --Benjamin Franklin.
