My first car thread

Post pictures of your first car. This is what my 1972 Chrysler Newport looked like, only mine was two-tone taupe top/cream bottom.

2001 Mazda 626.  Mine was a grey color though.  Had to get rid of it in December, because the transmission went out.   :bawl:

So, 29 years between the both of you? :bolt:

Funny Funny Funny!

My dad had ordered a 1969 Chrysler New Yorker while he was head of his union.  It was my mom's idea.  She loved the look of the car.

Meanwhile, my dad's term expired.  So we had this gorgeous limo-like car...which was green with a deeper green vinyl top...and my mother's 1964 Dodge.

So...my dad goes back into the field.  He drove the Dodge.  I had to drive the Limo to school.

I went to Kimball High in Oak Cliff (google it!).  The school had fourteen acres dedicated to the Corvettes and Mustangs the kids drove.  I had to pull in with my limo.  The guard shack guy use to have to stand out there and pull the wooden guard back by hand enough so I could go through.

Nothing is a chick magnet like a big ugly car!

(Yes, Stevie Ray Vaghan was in the same school)

1968 Plymouth Satellite

This is pretty close, but mine was a rather strange shade of purple.

318 with tons of power.  I used to eat Chevy 350's for lunch.

Ah, high school days.  All 2 years of them.

'68 Impala. Mine was red with black interior. We bought it from the original owner and it only had 35k miles on it. I miss that thing....

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle

1983 Chevy Malibu.

I bought my first car in 1990, right after college.

Mine was sky blue. Looked like a cop car. Small block 325 in that thing. It was great, but it was hard to work on because the engine was too big for the car. Not much pickup, but boy it flew once it got going. It was a tank. I miss that car soooooo much.  :bawl:

God alone suffices.

Rebel you suck.  :-)

All groovy cars! My husband has owned several vintage autos. But this one (or it's twin) was sold to buy my engagement ring. Wasn't he a romantic sonofagun?

Romantic or just blind with love, I would have found a different way to get the ring.

My first car:

It was a 1992, and even this same color.  Tinted windows.  It was my mom's and she gave it to me in 1996.  Not too shabby.
