Broken Arrow Ledger

About 300 people will be out of a job when Caterpillar Logistics Services Inc. closes its Broken Arrow facility this year, according to company officials.

Kate Kenny, Caterpillar spokesperson, confirmed that U.S. Cellular has chosen to let its service agreement with Cat Logistics expire at the end of August this year and has selected a provider specializing in the cell phone industry. Because of this, the Broken Arrow facility will shut down.

Kenny said the company would not release information on any possible severance packages for the 200 Caterpillar employees and 100 agency employees at its BA facility.

According to a company press release, employees have been informed of the closure, and Cat Logistics’ managers will work with U.S. Cellular on the transition plan to take place over the following months to assure a smooth transition of operations.
