Bret Baier to Interview Obama
« on: March 16, 2010, 12:16:03 PM »
Quote
Special Report's Bret Baier will interview President Obama on Wednesday in an exclusive conversation scheduled just days ahead of the House of Representative's critical vote on landmark health care legislation.

The interview will run uninterrupted in its entirety on Wednesday's Special Report at 6 p.m. ET on Fox News Channel.

Baier will discuss with the president the policy, politics and head counting behind efforts to pass Obama's signature domestic priority.  The two will also talk about other key issues facing the Obama administration and the country.

"This is a real opportunity to try to get some firm answers from President Obama on lingering questions about specifics in the health care legislation, the process Democrats are using to try to pass it, and the politics of its passage," Baier said. "And it's an opportunity to try to pin the president down on a few other hot topics. We welcome the opportunity and think it will be a benefit to our viewers."

Special Report will broadcast from the White House. After the interview, the Fox News All-Star panel of Steve Hayes, A.B. Stoddard, Juan Williams and Charles Krauthammer will offer expert analysis.

0Bama is getting desperate when he feels the need to take his spinning wheel into enemy territory.  I hope Brett doesn't lob him a bunch of softballs.

Oh, but you know he will--or at the very least he won't get asked any difficult questions.

Yeah, Bret's a little too gentlemanly.  Sigh.  Wonder if I should even watch this?  It's always so much blah blah blah....I always think I should watch these things to be informed, but then he tells a big lie, I get mad, then my mind wanders, then I wander off to do the dishes or something.  I dunno.  The soaring rhetoric just doesn't trip my trigger.

How much you wanna bet the questions will be pre-approved? There is no way in hell oblah blah is walking into Fox HQ without some protection.

Even if they are pre-approved as a condition of the interview, what's to stop Bret from deviating from that list?  It's a lose-lose for 0bama if he makes a big deal out of that or blasts FNC for it, cuz then he admits he can't handle tough questions unless he "studies to the test".  If he blasts FNC, it only shows how he will disregard freedom of the press when it suits him.  Anyway it goes, he has no recourse except not granting another interview on Fox, which is unlikely anyway.

Obama is following Beck. As it should be. Let those who lead, lead. Let those who follow, get the hell out of the way.

They have no one that can match up with him. As long as he has some protection against them editing it to suit what their viewers want to hear. I hope he also has his own crew to film it along with the FOX crew. Then if they mess with it, he has the original footage to put out to prove what he really said.

Me too. I prefer to read the transcript.

I want to see Obama's body language. I think everyone expects memorized answers from him, but when he gets flustered or angry, he can't completely control his body language, no matter how hard he tries.

Yeah, me too. Obama's best time to be viewed is at 6pm....can bet he wouldn't have done it at 6 if Bret wasn't the commentator.

I wonder if O'Reilly will have his body language expert on again soon to rate Lord Zero's appearance.

O'Reilly's an ass.

I rarely watch, but do catch bits and pieces when flipping through the channels. If he has anything of importance going on, they usually cover it on Fox and Friends the next morning. That doesn't happen very often.

She's on at least once every week.....Mondays? I bet she's on tonight though. Dennis Miller is on on Wednesday nights too....he's not a fan of Obama.  :evillaugh:

Bret Baier is on with Shep , now.  He says the interview was somewhat combative because he was trying to get Lord Zero to answer specific questions.  Maybe it will be worth watching.

Specifics?  What are those?  We're gonna pass the bill first then ask us what's in it.... :banghead:

According to Bela Pelosi, we have to pass the bill before we can know what's in it.

OBAMA: What I'm saying is whatever they end up voting on — and I hope it's going to be sometime this week — that it is going to be a vote for or against my health care proposal. That's what matters.

BAIER: Deem and passed, Senate reconciliation and we don't know exactly what's in the fix bill. Do you still think —

OBAMA: No, we will — by the time the vote has taken place, not only I will know what's in it, you'll know what's in it because it's going to be posted and everybody's going to be able to able to evaluate it on the merits.

Quote
OBAMA:This notion that this has been not transparent, that people don't know what's in the bill, everybody knows what's in the bill. I sat for seven hours with —

BAIER: Mr. President, you couldn't tell me what the special deals are that are in or not today.

OBAMA: I just told you what was in and what was not in.

BAIER: Is Connecticut in?

OBAMA: Connecticut — what are you specifically referring to?

Not to mention he wouldn't give a straight answer to a single question.  I listened to about 5 minutes of the interview driving in to work.  Any more and I probably would have just steered off the road and taken out a tree, he pissed me off that much.

Look for the Rasmussen Daily Tracking Poll to take a nosedive after this.
