I've belonged to a couple of messageboards that gave users the ability to self-delete all activity when they unregister themselves. Seeing as the DUmp software is really simple and highly customized I see no reason they can't blow up a user and their complete history with the touch of a button.

No doubt. The "User has been Removed" shows up way to often for that not to be true!

And it's a hell of a way to walk into a Federal obstruction of justice charge, not to mention the FBI computer forensics guys could find ANYTHING on pretty much any server should they choose to get nasty about it.

With backups and spiders archiving everything the deletion can be defended easily.

It mught be easy to defend but then again who want the charge of obstruction pointed their way. Even if they honestly deleted the content for breaking the rules DU could still have the feds after them with the track record of their minions caling for the arrest and sometimes assasination of sitting presidents. That stuff doesn't quickly go away.
