The FBI, alleging a plot to wiretap Democratic Sen. Mary Landrieu's office in downtown New Orleans, arrested four people Monday, including James O'Keefe, a conservative filmmaker whose undercover videos at ACORN field offices severely damaged the advocacy group's credibility.

FBI Special Agent Steven Rayes alleges that O'Keefe aided and abetted two others, Joseph Basel and Robert Flanagan, who dressed up as employees of a telephone company and attempted to interfere with the office's telephone system.

A fourth person, Stan Dai, was accused of aiding and abetting Basel and Flanagan. All four were charged with entering fedral property under false pretenses with the intent of committing a felony.

If true, that was not smart.  It's one thing to get the goods on a bunch of corrupt private losers like ACORN; it's another thing entirely to try and bug a federal building.  That is NOT ...

Indeed - I suspect the buzz of his ACORN successes got him wanting more, and he went too far. Regardless of politics, one doesn't attempt what amounts to a federal crime against one's opponents.

He has essentially turned into Cindy Sheehan.

Too bad, but what's done is done, it was wrong, and he will be punished accordingly.

He did something really stupid.  Rhetorically, he tried to run a mile with a hundred feet worth of line in the reel.  It ran out.  It was stronger than him, and he couldn't break the line and run with it.

Is anyone surprised by this? If the ****ing law enforcement would do their job, yes their ****ING JOB, we wouldn't have vigilantism. Not defending what OKeefe did, but for ****'s sake.

Breitbart was only the braking outlet for the videos, not an enabler or co-creator of them.  Giles and O'Keefe tried to shop their videos around before Breitbart agreed to give them widespread coverage.

A lot of this just doesnt add up. I have talked to James several times, and he never struck me as stupid. This plan, or screw up, just doesnt seem to be on his level.
