A real estate company whose owners have contributed heavily to Democratic causes apparently used articles and content on conservative blogs to justify bringing about pressure to shut down an Atlanta tea party protest scheduled for the Fourth of July — an event that organizers estimated would attract 20,000 people. The apparent plot was uncovered when blogger and radio talk show host Andrea Shea King noticed an unusual amount of traffic coming to her site earlier this month. On Jun 16, Andrea Shea King emailed me, questioning a heavy burst of Sitemeter traffic coming from simon.com. She included screencaps of the traffic, two of which are reproduced below (click to enlarge). The amount of time simon.com visitors spent on King’s site was extraordinary, both in the depth at which the visitors mined the site (20 to 44 pages each) and in duration (22 to 55 minutes each). It was also interesting in terms of the number of unique URLs, or concurrent visitors from that domain.http://pajamasmedia.com/blog/large-democratic-donors-help-shut-down-july-4-atlanta-tea-party/
There's a reason why patriotism is considered a conservative value. Watch a Tea Party rally and you'll see people proudly raising the American flag and showing pride in U.S. heroes such as Thomas Jefferson. Watch an OWS rally and you'll see people burning the American flag while showing pride in communist heroes such as Che Guevera. --Bob, from some news site
Everyone should show up anyway... They arrested MLK and other boycotters for the Montgomery bus boycott, arrested many who sat at "whites-only" lunch counters, etc. This is just another civil right.
as old C. Montgomery Burns would say:"Excellent"
I dunno anything about Atlanta other than its corrupt political machine, but there was an announcement on freerepublic about the place and address and time, and many there were commenting that the new place is bigger and in a better section of the city, and likely to draw considerably more.
Tea Parties are the wrong way to go.Let's make July 4 2010 "Smash a CFL Day."
They would arrest everyone for dumping toxic wastes based on the mercury contained in the CFL bulbs.
But...but...but...we were told they were GREEN!!!
To wit the reply would be: then why did you criminalize incandescent bulbs? Would you legislate the use of asbestos in the name of fire protection? And do you really think they would/could arrest 100,000 people? ******* hippies have "smoke-outs" for pot legalization why not a "smash-out"?
