Come on, guys, do it for George.

Not everybody has the chance to win for George.

New York Yankees pitchers ready to dig in? Andy Pettitte gives his answer

MIAMI -- When Yankees pitcher Andy Pettitte reached second base on Friday night he was winded. "If I got another hit, I don't know if I could pitch another inning," said Pettitte, who sprinted to a double in South Florida's steamy heat.

And thus began the annual fun of Yankees pitchers taking their hacks in interleague play.

Pettitte guessed right on a fastball and knocked in a run with a double to left, his first hit since August 31, 2006, as a member of the Houston Astros. He also scored a run as he helped key the Yankees 5-1 victory. Not bad for somebody who had a bad back that kept him from taking much batting practice.

"I wasn't feeling real happy about it after I got on the bases and was running around out there because it was extremely hot," he said. "I mean, it was hot, and the next time I came up I told the guys I wasn't even going to swing. I was just trying to rest.".....
