...and doesn't have the courage to send it.

Email from my RW dad... and the response I wanted to send, but didn't

He sent an email with a bunch of anti-Obama bumper stickers... some really vile stuff that I won't post here... and had the following statement in the email:

Quote
Some of you may disagree with these.....but maybe not after you've seen what's happened so far."

My dad is one of those guys who has Fox News on 24/7. He's too far gone to "convert", so I basically just ignore all political discussions when I'm visiting with him.

(Two weeks ago, I nearly bit through my lip to keep from commenting at my niece's birthday party when my dad was talking about the "baby killer that got sent to meet his maker".)

Here's the email response I typed up.... but then ultimately didn't hit "send". The reason is that no good can come from it except to add more strain to our relationship and make things more stressful for my mom.

Yeah right, so there he is at his grandaughter's party talking about some petty abortionist.  Caricature much?

Quote
Dad,

I'm curious as to what you mean when you say "what's happened so far".

I am assuming you are talking about the first 5 months of the Obama administration, and if so, here's what I have seen "happening so far":

Obama started an apology tour, started government funding of abortions again, hasn't used a accurate fact in any speech, whined about an abortionist killed while not saying anything about a recruiter being killed, and more.  Is that what you've seen?

- An economy that was hemorraging 700,000 jobs a month when Bush left office is now only losing 300,000 a month. That's still horrendous, but it's only been five months. If Clinton is to blame for the 9/11 attacks (which you've stated often) even though they occurred 9 months after he left office, then certainly Bush is ultimately to blame for the current economy and job situation. Right? RIGHT?

Uh, huh.  You were also accusing Bush of the recession that had already started when he took office as well, right?  Guess what, the shoe is on the other foot now.  Lobbing grenades is always more fun than catching them.

Quote
- A banking system that was facing complete collapse in September/October of 2008 (when President Shithead was in charge) has begun to recover. So much so that 10 large banks are already returning their TARP money to the federal treasury.

That banking system was pushed to collapse by untennable regulations and greedy officials at Freddie and Fannie, DUmmie.  Guess where those greedy officials are now.

Quote
- Consumer confidence is rising, right-track/wrong-track polls are moving back in the "right-track" direction, the economic indicators are either back to moving in the right direction or their descent in the wrong direction has levelled off.

The media can and does make up polls showing whatever they want DUmmie.  The economy is cyclical.

- The world, which unanimously hated our guts just 6 months ago, has begun to sing our praises and respects America again. I've been to Europe in the past 6 months. I've seen it. Americans don't have to lie and claim they are Canadians any more. The world is loving us and seeing that we aren't the neanderthal warmongers that your President and his neocon handlers made us look like.

Because Barry made apologies where none were justified, they see a weak America and think it will work to their advantage.  Only weenies like yourself ever said they were Canadian.  You were the ones running around slandering your own country and still are. what does that say about you?

Quote
- The government, once again, is basing its decision on good old science and the scientific method. Stem Cell Research is allowed again. Global Warming decisions are being made based on SCIENCE, and not on lobbyist money.

What set of circumstances would disprove the Anthroprogenic Global Warming Theory?  You are aware that Einstein set out conditions that would disprove his Theory of Relativity, right?  You are aware that scientists receiving government money might have an economic reason to skew the readings, right?

Quote
- Slowly, but surely, Americans are starting to be proud of their President again instead of embarrassed by him.

Please.  Without a teleprompter he comes off as a stammering idiot.  You elected a president that is as dumb as Bush sometimes managed to sound.

Quote
- Less than 21% of the population now self-identifies with the Republican party. The party of hate, your party, is imploding. In a few years, there will be something called the "Republican party" - but it won't look anything like the one we've had the past 30 years. They'll morph into something that realizes that the country is exceedingly "browner" than it was before. And people like you will be marginalized even farther. 50 years from now, the history books will talk about the Republican party of 1980-2010 in much the same way as the Nazi party is talked about today.

Hate?  Democrats support killing babies, euthanasia, and a system of health care that will ultimately deny care based on the notion of economic return, better hate than death.  Also, why do you think "browner" will somehow equal less racist when history does not bear such a conclusion?  Why would Republicans be compared to Nazis that isn't some deluded fantasy of yours?

Quote
You're a dinosaur, Dad. And your kind is already knee deep in the tar pits. And you don't even realize it.

Just what kind is your dad?  You are a known quantity.  His kind will be around long after you are dead and buried.

Quote
As more and more of your generation die off, less and less racism and bigotry will remain. Those under 50 years old don't think like you do. You're going the way of the do-do bird.

Yet you still support affirmitive action, no?

Quote
And my kids... your grandkids... will live in a better world because of it. In spite of your efforts.

Your kids will sit around and whine on a message board, DUmmie.  Any conservative's kid will enjoy a competitive advantage over yours.

1. Suggested response
"Please don't send me any more of this pornography. Thanks."

This from the site that had wet dreams about dating Obama.

2. I've said that kind of thing before.... he just sends to everybody in his address book and
claims he "forgot" to remove me.

I know that I'm the target audience, though.

Of course, he just targets li'l ole you.  :whatever:

11. Then the next step is . . .

"Dad, I've asked you politely not to send me this drivel, and you have ignored my request. You raised me too well to accept disrespect and abuse as the basis for a relationship. This is my last e-mail to you. I have blocked your incoming e-mails, and by the time you get this, I will have changed my e-mail address."

Then do it.

The truth burns too much?

3. I think you should send it.
Tone down the anger in a couple of places, and send. Warn your mom, too.

I sure as hell would not let him have the last word. I used to yell at my parents, and they took it.

Today, they're Democrats, but not because of me. Because they finally saw the light.

Maybe I helped get them there; I don't know.

Send it!

You just never know...

IOW, to have a relationship with their daughter, they spout marxist nonsense when she's around.

4. When I've done that in the past, it didn't end well...
It descended into angry back-and-forths and it is too late to change him.

He's 68 years old and set in his ways.

Someone once told me that nothing wrangles a person who wants to argue more than refusing to take the bait.

Guess who gets a sack of coal in the will.

6. It's useless to argue with someone who's convinced they are right
All he'll do is dig in harder. That doesn't mean you have to take his crap, either. Just let him know you're not interested in getting any more of his rant emails and tell him if he doesn't stop it, you'll delete ALL emails from him. He's looking for an audience for his views and maybe if you tell him often enough, he'll realise he's wasting his time trying to convert you.

He seems to have wasted at least eighteen or so years anyway.

 They're dead to me.

You are a fool.

That's got to be one of the most delusional, and therefore funniest, statements I've read in a while.  The scheming daemons primitive didn't deserve to have a father as good as he did, and the father certainly didn't deserve to have a child that's as worthless and stupid as the scheming daemons primitive.  I feel sorry for the kids of this primitive for having trash as a parent.

You know what, my dad is somewhat liberal, and every now and then he sends my left oriented e-mails.  I laugh it off, and send him a right wing oriented e-mail back, and then we tease each other the next time we talk.  Politics is politics, family is everything.   :cheersmate:

The problem with the DUmmies is that they are too wrapped up in themselves to have any real perspective.  Scheming Daemon, if you could find a genuinely humorous response to your father's e-mail, I would send that.  Otherwise, delete the e-mail, give your dad a nice phone call, without mentioning politics, and move on with your life.

I once knew a guy who was a conservative with a moonbat DU-type son.  He was very wealthy, and he disowned his son and wrote him out of the will.  At the time, I thought of that as unthinkable; I was kind of a moonbat in college, with cons parents who put up with me, patiently waiting for me to join the real world.

After reading DU for a few months though, I can see where the rich guy was coming from.

From the Planning Devil's email:

Quote
Consumer confidence is rising, right-track/wrong-track polls are moving back in the "right-track" direction,

Ah, but you see, Mr. Rasmussen says today:

Quote
However, most voters (59%) still say the nation is heading down the wrong track, up four points from last week and the highest level found on the question since mid-March.

That's such a tired liberal tactic.  Spinning stats.  I crack them for a hobby.
