Morning Edition, May 28, 2009 · The Obama administration has created the White House Office of Social Innovation and Civic Participation. The idea is for the government to work with nonprofits to identify programs that have had proven success in tackling social problems, such as homelessness and joblessness, and then to expand those programs across the country. The office will in effect provide seed money for the most innovative ideas.

Sounds like another way to funnel money to "community organizers".

Pond scum always comes to the top.

But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

Yes, because if something is actually successful the best thing to do is bring in the government.
According to the Bible, "know" means "yes."

It amazes me, really--I'd accuse this administration of spending money like drunken sailors, but even drunken sailors only spend THEIR OWN MONEY.

There are plenty of churches that already do that.  Hmmm, what are the odds that any of them will have access to funds and services from this "office"?   :whatever:

Didn't President Bush have something that was designed to help support "faith based" initiatives, and 0Bama was going to continue that?  If so, what is this new game of his?  Maybe it's to remove the "faith based" part from being tied into the funds?
