Thread is full of asshats that don't know the difference between democrats and liberals.  My parents were democrats - hard working people with morals (think Zell Miller).  They weren't tree-hugging, fudge-packing, pet-worshipping, chai-drinking tofu-eaters.  :mental:

Ok, CC, that analysis cracked me up.... I was in dire need of a chuckle too.

I agree with you by the way, in exactly the same way as a Republican and conservative not being equivalent.

Right now, I'm kicking myself for not picking a more cuddly plant to represent me.  Somehow, tho, BananaCarlos just doesn't have the same ring to it.

Che made the "tough Lib" list. That sounds about right for DU.  ::)

Hmmm "Liberal Tough Guy" sounds, what's the word..., oxemoronic.

The only one who breaks my heart is Tommy Lee Jones.

Why? He's a guy that plays pretend for a living and gets paid millions of dollars to do so.

There's a reason why patriotism is considered a conservative value. Watch a Tea Party rally and you'll see people proudly raising the American flag and showing pride in U.S. heroes such as Thomas Jefferson. No, he doesn't actually break my heart, but I do have a harder time believing his tough guy act. Thus the conundrum. :)

I'm with you, Schade.... he always plays the consummate awesome tough guy, wanting to kill the bad guys, not hold their hands and whisk them to the nearest treatment facility for some tea and talk before releasing them, rehabilitated, back onto the street.  So hard to reconcile to....this guy:

Actors are just politicians who get paid better. They spend their entire lives pretending to be someone they aren't and spouting words that someone else has written for them....Tommy Lee Jones is a good actor...I could care less about his politics as long as he keeps his mouth shut about it.
