WWII re-enactment photos from today
« on: May 04, 2009, 07:24:14 AM »
Every year they have a WWII reenactment near my home.  They are very strict about uniforms, weapons, clothing, cars, etc.  If it's not vintage or a damn goof reproduction of an item from the era, it's not allowed into the battle area.

Obviously the follow images are heavily edited to make them look period... or are they random WWII pics I found online?  :)

That should be enough, you get the idea.  :)

It was a blast to attend and to watch the shows.  You should try to find one in your local area and attend this summer, it's a lot of fun.  I know they hold them all over the country.

Very nice pictures!  Mr Flame borrowed a lens from a friend,  and now we are both lusting over it...100-400mm cannon, and ooohhh...took some NICE baseball shots!

That is a great lens!

It's good to see a fellow Canon shooter here.  :)   Most of these were shot with my 70-200 f/2.8L IS, 24-70 f/2.8L or the 17-40 f/4L.  I can carry these on me pretty easily without a backpack (cargo pockets) so this is how I usually equip myself for the photojournalist thing.

Yeah, I wouldn't want to lug this beast on every trip, but it sure was pretty awesome at the ball field!  I'm gonna take my 200 to the dance festival, and that's it.
