he claims to be a defense attorney in Arizona.
Keep him away from any hospitals I might need blood from. How arrogant does a person have to be to believe that their blood is so special and significant that a blood donation center must accept it. If he really cared that much about blood donations, he could sponsor a blood drive, volunteer at a blood drive, encourage everybody he knows to give blood, and provide a much more significant amount of blood that his little, political, pint.
Statistically, homosexual men are more likely to have AIDS than heterosexuals. It is the same reason that people who have spent time in African cannot donate blood. Heck, if you've spent enough time in Europe you are ineligible, because of Mad Cow disease. You are ineligible if you've gotten a tattoo in the past year, or if you've spent 24 hours in prison. Quite simply, the blood is tested, but nothing is perfect, so high risk populations are screened out. AIDS does not show up in blood tests for 6 months, if I'm not mistaken. The safety of the person who needs the blood is much more important than the "feelings" of the donor.
