Obama: Impeachment is not acceptable

WASHINGTON (AP) — Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama laid out list of political shortcomings he sees in the Bush administration but said he opposes impeachment for either President George W. Bush or Vice President Dick Cheney.

<snip>

"There's a way to bring an end to those practices, you know: vote the bums out," the presidential candidate said, without naming Bush or Cheney. "That's how our system is designed."

<snip>

Obama, a Harvard law school graduate and former lecturer on constitutional law at the University of Chicago, said impeachment should not be used as a standard political tool.

"I think you reserve impeachment for grave, grave breaches, and intentional breaches of the president's authority," he said.

And Obama calls himself a Constitutional Scholar or Expert?!

Wake Up & Smell the Corruption People! This is Disgusting!!!

Edited to Add:

A MILLION DEAD IN IRAQ! PEOPLE TORTURED! THAT IS NOT ENOUGH FOR IMPEACHMENT?!!!!

1. Makes sense. He cannot win wanting to impeach or agreeing to impeaching Bush.

20. Neither can Hillary. Which is why she doesn't address the issue either. Please be fair.

No she doesn't address it because her husband......you know the impeached one......was actually impeached.

9. agreed
 my comment was an invitation to the OP to tell us why Senator Obama's supposed lack of interest in impeachment... was so much WORSE than Senator Clinton's lack of interest in impeachment.

 But all of our elective officials and party leaders have failed us on this issue.
So why blame Obama?

11. Very true. We've heard lots of excuses, but this one takes the cake!
 Especially since it comes from someone who portrays himself as a man of integrity, Constitutional scholar/expert etc.

I'm sick of the Lies & B.S.!

24. Did you read the OP or the article? Obama flat out said he opposes Impeachment of * & Cheney.
 And then went on to explain that what * & Cheney did was not "grave enough" for Impeachment.

Read it yourself.
or
Are you in Complete Denial?

18. They aren't blaming him It basically shows that he's just a politician
 because he is doing what he needs to do to win.

If he needed to impeach to win, you bet your ass he'd do it.

19. Posted 220 Days Ago... can you find anything more recent? Also, can you enlighten us on Hillary's
 stance on impeachment? Was that her taking the 250,000 names to Congress last month?

Still waiting for a crime to be produced that Bush can be impeached with other than they don't like his policies.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

More from the constitutional scholars at the asylum.

Repeat: To impeach the president has to have broken a law. Having policies you don't agree with is not sufficient grounds.

They die, get resurrected, die, get resurrected...

It all depends on what moonbat "survey" is in vogue during any given week.
