I'm a plump, middle aged woman who doesn't own an ipod...

So I'm sure that pegs me as a Clinton Supporter. Deal with it.

Pardon me if I don't buy into the 'hoping for change' myth......and excuse me if I don't get chills down my spine when Obama speaks or when teenage children advise me to vote Obama because they know he's the one.

Being able to give charismatic speeches that fill your followers with 'hope for change' does not a hero make. Unfortunately with a generation fed on Hollywood, MTV and text messages, the soundbites are what have educated many.

So I'm cynical, I'm jaded and I'm pissed off. I don't really want a feel good candidate that wants to 'bring us all together'. I ****ing want a candidate who will ****ing kick some Republican Ass as soon as she is nominated. I want someone who can hold her own when the big boys start lobbing the shitballs in her direction..........just as she has stood up to the caca from her own kind for months on end now. I want someone who can stand up to the criticism and STILL stay on the issues....the Economy, health care, Foreign Policy for grown-ups.

I don't want to get along with all the assholes that got America into this mess in the first place and if that attitude makes me a has been old fuddy duddy according to the mainstream press and Obama then they can **** off in tandem.

I have sat and watched so much bullshit come down the pike for the past 7 years that there's no way I want to kiss and make up and feel good about nothing in America. You don't like my anger? Then you can **** off too.

This is not high school or college. This is real world, down and dirty politcs and if you want to beleive that anyone is going to change the system so radically that we will live in cities paved with gold and all love one another is beyond being naive....it's downright dangerous.

Wanting a 'love in' when we are clearly going into the biggest fight we have had yet is asking to lose. I'm not reaching out to any god damned Republicans for nothing. No way.

Uh oh.  The hippies are clashing with the Stalinists.  Things are going to get worse before they get better.   :-)

She doesn't want a feel-good candidate.  She doesn't want to get along.  She wants everyone to be as miserable and unhappy as she has made herself since 2001.  Ladies and gentlemen, liberalism defined.

I'm not really sure what being middle-aged, fat, and technological challenged really has to do with her screed at all. She really shouldn't isolate the 'little ones' though since a nice little chunk of their base are little more then 'teenage children' who still have stars and feed the world hope in their eyes.

135. Yes, people who vote for Obama are stupid and you're so awesomely smart.

Keep on telling young people that their vote shouldn't count. That'll help the future of the party.

femrap

79. And what? You expect us to 'mother' them. Aren't they sweet...they're going to vote. Obama has insulted the Baby Boomers and our excesses of the '60's and '70's.

I see him as very calculating...the Reagan praise and then says at the debate...'I didn't say they were good policies.' Very sly and slick.

And we had 'HOPE' in 1992 w/ B. Clinton.

on a daily basis in a country that has national health care. You have no idea what a conservative is. The entire democratic party is conservative compared to the Liberals I know.

93. I didn't realize living in Europe gave you moral authority in all argument over american politics. You should have warned me, I wouldn't even let this conversation go this far.

133. Living abroad......As an American and being aware of how American Politics affects the global community doesn't make one a 'moral authority' over American Politics, but it does give one a better comprehension of what is a real Liberal and a real Conservative.

ya know, thats true... the 'real progressives' outside of America are more like Communists, than socialists.

I notice European liberals like to insert themselves in American politics a lot. Old habits die hard from the colonial days I reckon. :whatever:

My econ professor's mother lives in Norway; she uses it as an example a lot.  They have national health care there and the minimum wage is $15, but a bottle of salad dressing will run you $12 and an 8-pound ham will cost you $100.

Can you imagine how much bitching would happen if a bottle of salad dressing took an entire hour's wages to buy in the US?  Those fools would be screaming about Big Dressing or the eeeeeeeevil salad companies.

They just flat out refuse to except economic realities. While giving so much lip service to oppression, they would make virtual slaves out people making over a certain income. They seriously are expecting other people to work for their benefit. It's ludicrous.

That is their delusion, they think everything that exists today will be the same just with all their selfish, greedy goodies added on.

What they are not capable of understanding is that market forces and human nature will not allow that to happen.

39. so- what is it that you DO want?
you don't want hope- you don't want any posibility of co-operation among the political parties in the US-

You want to be angry, and you want to hold onto your anger and nurture it.

Is that what Hillary has to offer me?

If so, I say without hesitation or regret- NO THANK YOU.

What does Hillary have to offer me? Except the yin to *'s yang- and 8yrs of acrimony and mos?

You are so full of all the vague negatives that are so easily tossed at Obama- and so empty with any positive 'meat' on Hillary-
What makes her even remotely superior?
To see it through this shallow lens,
I'll take a love in over a hate fest anyday.

Ouch.

251. simple answer...from the sound of the OP is.....
old fat angry white women are drawn to other old fat angry white women? That may come off as offensive to some, but the OP was just as offensive to me. I can say that the OP, and the subsequent posts in support of it are why I hope these people get exactly what they don't want, and that is a President Obama.

And let me just remind the baby boomers in the room to be careful how you smugly discount the young. Afterall, it may not be very long before they'll be wiping the drool from your chin, and changing your Depends.

Double ouch!   :-)

I'm not sure whether this is one of those "in my day" nostalgic lectures, the political "I am woman" screed, or a review of 2 girls, 1 cup. Note: if you haven't seen this yet DO NOT watch it. Our local shock jocks were making a big deal out of it, I swear I'm scarred for life. Some of the reaction videos on YouTube are kind of funny, though.
