2009 inaugural crowd estimates shrinking
« on: December 23, 2008, 10:27:23 AM »
The Obamessiah's image is already starting to tarnish.

http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2008/12/obama_inaugural_crowd_estimate.html

Quote
After the historic election of Senator Barack H. Obama (D-IL), the first presumably native Hawaiian president elected, supporters gushed that easily half of the  50 million plus who voted for him would turn up in Washington DC for His official Inauguration Day Lordship.

Whoops!

Officials are casting doubt on an early projection that 4 million to 5 million people could jam downtown Washington on Inauguration Day, saying it is more likely that the crowd will be about half that size.

And why the drastic estimate reduction?

D.C. authorities said the earlier estimates, provided by Mayor Adrian M. Fenty (D), were based on speculation surrounding the historic nature of the swearing-in of Barack Obama as the nation's first African American president. After weeks of checking with charter bus companies, airlines and other sources, they're reassessing.

"It's more of an art than a science," City Administrator Dan Tangherlini said. "The fact is, earlier it was speculation. Now we're beginning to flesh it out and what the physical capacities of the system are."

"Based on speculation."  No.  It was based on Obamessiah worshipers with stars in their eyes.

Not only is his image shrinking somehow his race changed from Black to Hawaiian  :whatever:
It is said that branches draw their life from the vine. Each is separate yet all are one as they share one life giving stem . The Bible tells us we are called to a similar union in life, our lives with the life of God. We are incorporated into him; made sharers in his life. Apart from this union we can do nothing.

The crowd size won't be the only thing "shrinking" in the cold of DC in the winter.  :lmao:

I just feel bad for the service bands that have to perform for His Holiness.

Marching in the January slop, cold, and wind isn't fun under any circumstances, but then have to do it for the Exalted One is a bitter pill I'd really hate to have to swallow.

I heard a while back that attendees would not be allowed to bring an umbrella in with them. Anyone know if it's true?

Anyone else praying for a whopper of a storm in mid-January for the D.C. area?  :uhsure:

Basically the mayor just pulled a number out of his ass, and the press did their usual sterling job of reality-checking when the name of "Obama" is involved in the story.

 :whatever:

I had heard the same thing, also no posters, coolers or other stuff.  The list was about the same as it was for the convention and his acceptance speech.  A temperature of about 32/33 with high winds and heavy freezing rain would be perfect.  :uhsure:

15" of snow in southern maryland and Northern VA on Jan 19 would be a great thing.   Especially given the attention global warming is getting this year.

THE colder it is that day, the fewer will show. If this weather's an example, it could be just NObama standing there alone.
