social responsibility.

We know that any motto by Republicans, about their own party, is bull and they are not fiscally responsible BUT being socially responsible is what we are about. It is who we are,. It is our whole reason for being a Democrat.

Say what you will about Pelosi but she did push through an awful lot of things the first couple of days and that did include a wage hike for the people who most need it.

Being a part of the Democratic Party means we CARE about people and we do not put them down or make them feel disenfranchised from us. I am not talking about the politicians but even there we need to be respectful when we criticize a Democratic candidate someone else likes. BE respectful to the people who are in this with you together. Play nicely with others and when they snipe at you, be polite and let them know it was not called for. I have done this many times and I have never been met with anything but niceness. Sometimes our emotions get carried away and when the person sees they are being called on something they usually are big enough to take a few steps back and apologize.

I have been amazed at some comments that have been made on the DU forum. I have heard that someone loosing their house, in the housing crisis, is their own fault and they should have seen it coming. I have heard people being put down because they think a right-wing candidate's wife is hot and I see a smoker upset at what bad you would wish on him just because he is a smoker.

I am a Democrat and this means I do not have to agree with something in order to try and extend my human understanding of a subject matter. Look at the ACLU and how they defend things we do not agree with sometimes. This means I am ALWAYS on the side of social responsibility. What this means is that I want to make sure there is less suffering in the world.

I want single moms to have a REAL living wage so that they do not have to work two or three jobs.

I want social security for all. If you put in your work time to make this country a better place to live then we should have the money there for you when you get old.

I want everyone to have health care and not have to worry that the bill will bankrupt them and they will live in the poor house forever more.

I want everyone to have prescriptions or the medical treatments they need to not only survive but to thrive. I understand that while I do not know you, you have many loved ones who want to make many more memories and you need to be around. No one should die because pharma needs to make a bigger profit.

I want everyone to have a roof over their head. If France can amend their constitution, to say everyone is entitled to a house, then why can't we? Are we a lesser country than France?
I do not want small children, big men, military vets, old people or anyone sleeping out in the cold.

I am a Democrat and this means when someone is down and out, such as loosing their house, I do not look to blame them. The incident had happened and so now I figure out what can be done to help, not hinder. I do not show them their boot strap, instead I extend my hand to help them back up on their feet.

Speaking with vitriol is NOT a Democratic trait.

Putting someone down is NOT a Democratic trait.

Saying you are glad something bad has befallen another person is NOT a Democratic trait.

Loving kindness and compassion ARE Democratic traits.

Are you a Democrat?

"The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism, but under the name of liberalism they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program until one day America will be a socialist nation without ever knowing how it happened."

Oh my.

The dumb girl primitive posted that.

I'm not 100% sure, but at least 95% sure, that the dumb girl primitive is the one who boasted on Skins's island about how she was going to tell off Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, and got into some trouble for it.

Sanctimony is clearly a democrat value.
If you want to worship an orange pile of garbage with a reckless disregard for everything, get on down to Arbys & try our loaded curly fries.

More like the party that wants to trash the constitution.
