CC's neverending poem
« on: January 30, 2008, 07:54:08 PM »
The poets who din't know it in the PICTURE THREAD inspired this post. At least 2 lines should rhyme, if you are at a loss, start a new line.

I'll start it with Poe, but from this point forward, you should be original....

Once upon a midnight dreary

"When you see that trading is done, not by consent, but by compulsion - when you see that in order to produce, you need to obtain permission from men who produce nothing - when you see that money is flowing to those who deal, not in goods, but in favors - when you see that men get richer by graft and by pull than by work, and your laws don't protect you against them, but protect them against you - when you see corruption being rewarded and honesty becoming a self-sacrifice - you may know that your society is doomed."

As we sit in the lounge, dreaming of sex and beers,
Let nothing trouble you,
Let nothing frighten you.
All things are passing;
God never changes.
Patience attains all that it strives for.
He who has God lacks nothing:
God alone suffices.

We need pic-goodness for that my dear.
Man’s greatness is so obvious that it can even be deduced from his wretchedness, for what is nature in animals we call wretchedness in man, thus recognizing that, if his nature is today like that of the animals, he must have fallen from some better state which was once his own.
