Lieberman Should be Given the Boot
He was rejected by his own States Democrats by something like 54%
Hr represents the Zell Miller’s of the Party.
He and has betrayed the philosophy of our party and has been a tool for
Bush from the very beginning. And now he supports McCain.

Yet he holds the chairmanship on the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs
as well as memberships on the Armed Services, Environment/Public Works, and Small Business Committees. He has taken the place of a REAL Democrat on these Committees
which in effect causes us, Democrats, To lose our voice and input.

Sorry Lieberman Liberals, But he should be stripped of all Chairmanships
and Committee assignments and a true Democrat put in his place.
Let him go to John McFruittyPants if he wants a committee assignment.

Or as the motto of his chosen party say’s, “Let em eat cake”

If the Democratic Party is going to Change.....

This is STEP # 1

(Just one Democrats Opinion)

I imagine the alert buttons have been broken.

1. welcome to DU
trouble is, as long as he has that "d" after his name, the dems are in the majority--however narrowly. it's a sad state of affairs, and I really wish he would just go away.

2. He'll be toast once we have a stronger majority in the senate next year.
He will be rendered completely insignificant as he coasts through what remains of his final term in political office.

12. I really hate to say it, but it looks to me as if Mr. Lieberman has
Edited on Tue Jan-29-08 03:34 PM by Dhalgren
positioned himself in such a way that he could be named to the cabinet of any of the current front-runners: Clinton, Obama, McCain, or Romney. As sickening as it is, it could actually happen, he has strong "backers"...

5. The Democratic Party re-elected Lieberman, despite his running as an independent
The whole party abandoned the real Democratic candidate, Ned Lamont, and threw its collective weight behind Lieberman's re-election.

Do you really think they will ditch him?

Don't you mean the real moonbat

15. What is real change?
That the party who ditched the democratically elected candidate to support croney-turned-traitor Lieberman will magically stop supporting him? He is in office until 2012 and nothing short of assassination (I'm speaking politically, of course) is going to change that. The party didn't tell the rank-and-file to **** off, Lieberman was in no matter what only to do the same to Lieberman two years latter.

You are new here, so your optimism can be forgiven.

Translation...........you are new here and not yet in our pessimistic outlook.

19. The National Committee gave *SO* much support to Lamont
I recall seeing Clinton, Dean and many other leading Democrats endorse Lieberman AFTER he declared like a spoiled brat that he was running for re-election anyway, despite the primary results.

I don't believe any current Democratic Senator endorsed Ned Lamont, either before the primary or after.

How was that the doing of the GOP?

23. Not true,
Howard Dean did not support Lieberman in the primary or general election. As DNC Chair he did not endorse during the primary but he did stick up for CT Dems rights to primary Lieberman.

Hillary endorsed Lieberman in the primary but did support Lamont in the GE.

Ted Kennedy and John Kerry came to CT to stump with Lamont.

24. That's not how I'm remembering things, but I will step away on this
I distinctly recall Clinton and others appearing on news broadcasts for weeks after the Connecticut primary, explaining why re-electing newly independent Lieberman would be a Good Thing.

Meaning what I think and remember is the truth, regardless of what you say

17. It looks highly probable we'll do that in November
I'm usually very pessimistic, but looking at the Senate races out there, I find it hard to believe we won't easily gain 2-3 seats in the Senate, if not 4-5.

Lieberman would probably resign out of spite so our Republic governor can appoint a Republic to replace him...

14. Great Pic tularetom, But...
Look, I’ve been wasting my time on our local papers forum.
Rockford, Illinois 16th Congressional Dist. And what few Dems
we have there seem to love this guy.

I detest him and all he stands
for. Lamont was the superior candidate by far.

The whole party suffered because of his loss and dick heads win.

It's not nice to poke a stick in the hive

For people that claim to love democracy so much they sure hate it when it goes against what they want. The people of CT voted for who they wanted and that was Lieberman. No conspiracy or dirty tricks a majority of the voters in his state wanted to send him back to the Senate and that is what happened.
I may not lock my doors while sitting at a red light and a black man is near, but I sure as hell grab on tight to my wallet when any democrats are close by.

ahh, yes.. but they think it was a dirty trick for Lieberman to not 'quit' like he was supposed to after he lost the nom. Ironically, many of these folks are praying that Kooky does exactly what Lieberman did.

It made sense for Lieberman to run as an Indie he actually had the support to do so. Kooch would just be pissing in the wind and stealing moonbat votes from Hillary.  :-)
