I had breakfast at ******* Barrel last Friday (I think).  Yes, I had grits.  Very good.

We were going back to ******* Barrel this morning, but got side tracked by having to babysit a 6 month old due to her father being taken to an emergency room.  Talk about your convoluted relationships, the baby belongs to my ex-daughter-in-law and her S.O.
Sort of an extended grandchild sort of thing going on there, Undies.  Any real grandkids from the ex?

My parents used to do things like this...always treated the younger, unrelated siblings of grandkids just like the real grandkid.  Mr Smith's family is great this way, too.

I've had grits a couple of times and I don't care for them really.  But Jty if I ever visit you, I'll try your grits with cheese.   :-)

Never had grits in Kansas.  I'll have to try it next time I'm up there.   :fuelfire:

Up here, we feed grits to our cattle and the beef to us.  Have a T-bone...it's the best results you can get from grits.

:bs:

Grits are too damned expensive to use as livestock feed. Plain ol' feed corn is cheaper and probably better, nutritionally.

Back in the late 50's, I had been up north with daddy about a week and no grits. I was about to die. We were in Canada a couple of days later when I saw on the menu "grits". I had to have me some of those grits or else. My daddy told me, "I don't think you want 'those grits'". He was right, I didn't want "those grits". They were hominy grits. He made me eat'em too. ...and I haven't had hominy grits since then either. :-)
