In Case You Had Doubts About McCain's POS Campaign...
« on: November 11, 2008, 10:37:40 AM »
Quote
Jindal was approached by McCain forces to gauge his interest in the vice presidency and told them he was not interested in being vetted due to his desire to continue on with his current job, to which he was elected just one year ago.

While the official reason that Jindal took his name out of contention was his lack of a desire to leave the Louisiana governorship, there was also real trepidation within his political inner circle that Jindal might wind up as the pick — McCain was attracted to his comprehensive health-care knowledge — and be caught up in what they believed to be a less-than-stellar campaign that could pin a loss on Jindal without much ability to change or control the direction of the contest…

The end result — intentional or not — is that Jindal, should he run in 2012, will be free of any taint of President George W. Bush or McCain.

As I noted elsewhere: Palin is pretty much done on the (V)P scale of national politics. Not only was she blamed but people have actively lied about her posing as members of the McCain inner circle and the tired old man didn't even bother to defend her.

Thank God Jindal had the foresight to dodge this bullet/freight train.

I have asked myself over and over two things 1) Why didnt McCain defend her by denying the rumors from supposed campaign insiders and 2) Why havent we heard jack shit from the RNC about their part in this?

I think they were more interested in maintaining a status quo rather than acting on conservative principles.

With such a dramatic loss and a pissed-off base they know they're on the chopping block. The best way to defend is to deny and affix blame elsewhere. Palin is the obvious target because she is what they failed to become. If they can paint her as an under-educated religious hick tey automatically insulate themselves from the under-educated religious hicks within the base.

Basically, we're dealing with a bunch of blue-blood, limo-ridin' RINO's of the exact same sort we hate in the democrat party.

They want social conservatives to just shut up and vote for the RNC pick, not to have an actual candidate in the race.  The GOP party party bureaucracy is in the game for their own positions, not for any principles beyond a certain strain of Old-Boy, Ivy League, fiscal conservatism.  Accordingly they are trying to knife Palin in the back since she threatens that status quo, and although John McCain is cooperating with the knifing, she isn't.

Somehow the old axiom about not bringing a knife to a gunfight seems appropriate here.  :fuelfire:

The GOP is losing its traditional base and just doesnt seem to be concerned about it. If they think they will automatically get the vote of real conservatives they got another damn think coming. RINO bastards.  :bird:

Of course there are still some conservatives that will obligingly vote for anyone with an 'R' next to their name.   :whatever:

People just dont get it that as long as the current crop of RINO's get their vote they aint gonna change and the problem only gets worse.

No, no and hell no.

Come on now, 2012 is a lifetime away in political years.   Sarah Palin is just getting warmed up.    This stuff is nonsense, and Jindal is a self-serving opportunist.  Screw the party right?

Gee, it's a mystery what is wrong with this party.

1)  McCain is still nursing his ego over the loss;

2) The RNC is in the midst is a power struggle for leadship.   If Palin was cut off, she would be cut off -- period.   They are not behind this juvenile nonsense.   A few misfits in McCain's campaign are.  Ownership for failure is clearly not something this young generation can buy into.

So what is your time frame here on the change?   It's been about 16 years or so with your experiment, and I haven't see the RNC shift to the far right yet.

How many seats do we need to lose in Congress -- 50, 100?   You elected a radical socialist to the White House -- will that do it this time?

Reality is going to be moving into the oval office in a few months.   You may want to actually take notice this time.
