Mitt Romney is being touted as the candidate with BUSINESS skills. Excuse me...

...but isn't having a president who promised to "RUN THE COUNTRY LIKE A BUSINESS" a large part of what got us into this mess?

Americans have the attention span of a grapefruit.

Good old, Atman. Let's be honest here, DUmmies really wouldn't like it if it was run like a business because that would indeed mean slashing programs that are wasteful, living within a budget, etc.

7. he IS gonna ruin (I mean run) the US like a business   Updated at 9:59 AM

He'll buy low, mess with the numbers, falsely inflate the bottom line, ship jobs overseas, lay off millions, slash benefits, pollute the environment, give the CEO's millions of dollars annualy when the business is sinking, then bail on US right before we go belly up and have to shut the doors.

Liberals have this way of latching on to one or two criminal situations and presuming it is the reality for all companies don't they? Enron committed fraud so that must mean that every other company does too?  :banghead:

11. The country isn't a business. It's a country.

In a business, only the owners have any say how it works. In a republic, everyone is supposed to have a say.

Maybe he is on to something...only those with an investment in their community have a say. That was this country at one time was it not? (ie landowners and voting rights?) Now, I'm being a bit facetious, but this is a poor analogy on his part. The country does indeed have to be run like a business in many regards because there is not an endless pot of money for politicians to dip their hands into for magical social programs. Like a business, the country needs to be cognicent of its competition(both friendly in regards to trading issues and hostile in regards to situations of war). Where it differs is everyone who meets the certain criteria(citizen), even without 'ownership', gets a vote, however, just like a corporation we 'hire' people by our vote to undergo the major decisions of the organization(country). We don't technically get a direct say in what happens anymore then a stock owner gets a direct say corporate decisions. And wait, Sarbanes Oxley put more responsibility for deliberate failure on the shoulders of executives. Isn't that what they are always claiming to want when they want to indict Bush? The he be personally responsible for what they see as fraudulant behavior? Geebus, they are hard to keep up with.  :thatsright:

I love how these poor deluded life-failures despise anyone who has even a little success. It's like everyone else's success makes their lives just that more pathetic.
Let nothing trouble you,
Let nothing frighten you.
All things are passing;
God never changes.
Patience attains all that it strives for.
He who has God lacks nothing:
God alone suffices.
