Could you marry somebody who is a MAGA ?

Why am I suddenly wondering ? Hailey Stevens ' fiancé is a MAGA republican. How the heck was not it a red flag for democrats to support her ?
I can see how sometimes married couples put up with different political opinions, but when you are in the dating stage, knowing what we now know about what a MAGA person values are, how could you still carry on as a democrat is beyond me.
I am happily married, and luckily my wife and pretty much our entire family on every side are strong democrats. I am very grateful for that. Life is stressful enough to not have to deal with a MAGA family member.

They're assuming that anybody MAGA would be interested in them...

Not shocked. It's the only concise answer any TDS-addled genius can offer up when pressed.

You have none (or close to none) in your family, yet somehow you know how stressful it would be to have one? :thatsright:

Their correct answer is: depends on how big his or her pile of money is.

If the DU-folk are referring to Haley Stevens but misspelling her name, she is the Dem Representative who ran for the Dem Senate nomination and lost to El-Sayed. She is Pro-Israel and anti-ICC, She just endorsed El-Sayed's opponent, Mike Rogers, probably largely over his antisemitism ... which is why DU-folk are POed at her.

Hailey Stevens ' fiancé is a MAGA republican.

Evidently not:

Who is Jason Turkish?

Turkish, who lives in Huntington Woods, a suburb of Detroit, is a lawyer and Jewish Democrat. He is engaged to Stevens of Birmingham.

Theres a fine line, apparently (between being a maga republican, and a jewish democrat).

Haley Stevens Fires Back at the Party Trying to Destroy Her

https://pjmedia.com/matt-margolis/2026/11/03/haley-stevens-just-fired-back-at-the-party-trying-to-destroy-her-n4958970

Quote
After taking a crazy amount of flak from her own party for the simple and brave act of refusing to back a blatant antisemite, Rep. Haley Stevens (D-Mich.) is fighting back.

Stevens published an X article titled "The Decisions We Make," laying out exactly why she yanked her endorsement of Democratic Socialist Abdul El-Sayed and threw her support behind Republican Mike Rogers in Michigan's Senate race. Her party has spent weeks trying to bully her into retreat. She hasn't budged an inch.
...
"My decision to withdraw my endorsement of Abdul El-Sayed and support Mike Rogers has angered many Democrats. I understand why," Stevens wrote. "But it was not impulsive, and it was not made for me by anyone else. It was a decision of conscience."

Stevens explained that she endorsed El-Sayed after losing the Democrat primary and put the party first. And she didn’t get much credit for doing so.

"Instead, I was shut out. The endorsement was welcomed; the people behind it seemed to be forgotten," she said. "There was little effort to listen to the voters who supported me or bridge the real disagreements our primary had exposed."

The campaign's embrace of Hasan Piker sealed the deal for her. El-Sayed paraded the bigoted streamer around college campuses, and Stevens didn't hold back on what came next.

"Just days ago, Piker compared efforts to win over Jewish voters in West Bloomfield to canvassing a KKK neighborhood," Stevens wrote. "Abdul condemned those remarks, but his decision to embrace Piker in the first place raised serious questions about his judgment and his ability to bring people together."
