Well, the Intercept totally went there.

IT’S EVEN WORSE THAN WE THOUGHT.

What we’re seeing right now from Donald Trump is a full-on authoritarian takeover of the U.S. government.

This is not hyperbole.

Court orders are being ignored. MAGA loyalists have been put in charge of the military and federal law enforcement agencies. The Department of Government Efficiency has stripped Congress of its power of the purse. News outlets that challenge Trump have been banished or put under investigation.

Yet far too many are still covering Trump’s assault on democracy like politics as usual, with flattering headlines describing Trump as “unconventional,” “testing the boundaries,” and “aggressively flexing power.”

The Intercept has long covered authoritarian governments, billionaire oligarchs, and backsliding democracies around the world. We understand the challenge we face in Trump and the vital importance of press freedom in defending democracy.

2. The Intercept jumped the shark years ago
One cannot praise and accept particular reports from them that resonate and tickle our amygdalas, and then ignore the numerous times they have published hysterically wrong hit pieces on Democrats.

The fact is, despite acting with lawless impunity on a daily basis, this administration is an evil clown car of incompetent goat rodeo rejects that fails more often than it succeeds, and has a long history of being stopped, stalled, stymied or otherwise restrained by the courts, the states and the people.

The Intercept seeks to sustain the mythology that Trump is omnipotent, and the states and the people are powerless, for the purpose of generating a readership that thinks they have special access to information the general public does not.

5. The Intercept with Greenwald and Scahill did their darndest to push hit pieces on Hillary, Biden, and Harris, and
ncourage people, especially in 2016 NOT to vote for Hillary when we lost the supreme court.

As far as I am concerned they can go to the blazes.

Remember Reality Winner? The jackasses at The Intercept exposed her as the source after they published a leaked NSA report regarding Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. elections.

They are directly responsible for putting her in jail.

screw them.

They're like any other media outlet, then.

A DUmmy saying something is not hyperbole is near courtroom valid proof that something is, in fact, hyperbole.

Activist courts that act outside their legal jurisdiction should be ignored

You were silent, at best, when they were run by left wing loyalists...if you weren't cheering.

It really hasn't. But we get why the corrupt hate being audited.

Hogwash.

We don't live in a democracy. Besides, it is well and widely known that when someone of your ilk quotes someone else of your ilk using the word 'democracy' in doomerism terms, what you really mean is democrat/leftist/collectivist/globalist control.

I have come to learn that whenever lefty says Trump is defying court orders, what they really mean is, "Sought appellate review."

It makes them very made because Trumps has prevailed the overwhelming majority of times because the district courts keep violating their jurisdiction.
According to the Bible, "know" means "yes."

As opposed to what? I would think it's normal for an administration to appoint people who favor that administration.

From the reliably Prog W'pedia, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Intercept :

Quote
The Intercept

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
For other uses, see Intercept (disambiguation).

The Intercept is an American left-wing[2][3][4] and progressive[2][5][6] nonprofit news organization that publishes articles and podcasts online. The Intercept has published in English since its founding in 2014, and in Portuguese since the 2016 launch of the Brazilian edition. It has been noted for its pro-Palestinian coverage.[2][7]

History
2014–2022: Founding, early years
The Intercept was founded by journalists Glenn Greenwald, Jeremy Scahill, and Laura Poitras.[8] It was launched on February 10, 2014, by First Look Media with $250 million in pledged funding by billionaire eBay co-founder Pierre Omidyar.[9][10][11] The publication initially reported on documents released by Edward Snowden.[12] Co-founders Greenwald and Poitras left in 2020 amid public disagreements about the leadership and direction of the organization.[8]

When W'pedia says The Intercept is "left-wing" and "progressive", take their word for it, :rotf: . Founders Glenn Greenwald, Jeremy Scahill, and Laura Poitras are reliably Prog "journalists". As for Omidyar, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pierre_Omidyar , "Omidyar and his wife Pamela founded Omidyar Network in 2004, becoming a long-term Democratic Party donor."

Authoritarian, eh?

Elissa Slotkin's Warning to Future Trump Staffers: You Could Face Prosecution

Sen. Elissa Slotkin (D-MI) apparently has a message for young Americans considering a job in President Donald Trump's administration: Think about what prosecutors might do to you later.

Slotkin, who has repeatedly accused Trump of weaponizing the federal government against political opponents, now wants young conservatives thinking about the consequences of working for him. She even has a name for it. A "deterrence message."

The senator was at the University of Chicago on October 13 for a live recording of Vox's "America, Actually" podcast. Her conversation with editorial director Astead Herndon included Democratic plans for dealing with Trump and officials serving under him.

A 26-second excerpt circulated Saturday. Slotkin was discussing future criminal cases when she brought up college graduates considering government work.

The Chicago remarks didn't come out of nowhere. Two weeks earlier, at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, Slotkin had laid out her plan for Democrats returning to power. She wanted a list of "signature cases," borrowing the idea from Poland's "Iron Broom" campaign.
