President Trump has agreed to grant Ukraine the licenses to manufacture its own Patriot missiles, a critical air-defense system that intercepts incoming projectiles from Russia, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said.

“There are concrete agreements regarding Patriot licenses,” Zelensky posted Friday on X. “At our meeting, President Trump stressed that he had made his final decision: Ukraine will receive licenses to produce Patriot missiles.”

In addition to the US, only Japan, Germany and Poland currently have the ability to produce the air-defense missile systems. Until now, Ukraine has been dependent on the US and other allies to supply Kyiv.

Democratic Representative Ro Khanna is calling on Israel to release Marwan Barghouti from prison. Barghouti is a terrorist who was convicted of five counts of murder.

In a video statement posted to X on Friday, Khanna said Palestinians must “choose their own leaders” and argued Barghouti could play a role in establishing a Palestinian state that lives peacefully alongside Israel. Barghouti is seen as a potential successor to Palestinian Authority leader Mahmoud Abbas despite being in prison.

“Barghouti has a unique standing among all Palestinian factions. He’s seen as non-corrupt, a strong leader and secular. Barghouti could deliver a Palestinian state living in peace with Israel,” Khanna said.

Khanna is antisemitic scum. He has Presidential ambitions, and seems to think Israel- and Jew-hatred* will be a ticket to the WH.

President Donald Trump says that he has approved new fuel economy standards that should cut the costs of the vehicle market.

“BIG DAY FOR AMERICAN AUTO WORKERS AND CAR BUYERS! I have just approved new Fuel Economy Standards that TERMINATE Sleepy Joe Biden and Pete Boot-EDGE-EDGE's ridiculous EV Mandate," Trump wrote on Truth Social. "The Dumocrats cost our Great Auto Manufacturers $Billions, forced Americans into cars they never wanted, and wasted Billions on Chargers that were never built.”

The new standards terminate the EPA’s electric vehicle mandate.

"These new Standards will take the waste out of ⁠building cars in America. That means LOWER PRICES, saving families thousands on a new, beautiful, and safe car," Trump wrote. “Far better than the Environmental Monsters that we were building heretofore. Every Manufacturer, from General Motors to Ford to Stellantis, has called me wanting to build here, and now they can!”

The final rule isn’t available yet. Under former President Joe Biden, the EPA had ordered about 67 percent of new light-duty and medium-duty vehicle sales to be electric by 2032.

How mandating what types and percentages of cars could be sold was constitutional, I don't get, but Detroit has been caving to DC's legally dubious mandates for decades.

I hope it's not the latest -ballistic missile killing - pac that he's authorized. One of the earlier versions is more than enough, especially if Russia decides to bring it's A-game to try to capture some transferred US-technology that might be useful in upgrading the S-400 series SAMs.

How mandating what types and percentages of cars could be sold was constitutional, I don't get, but Detroit has been caving to DC's legally dubious mandates for decades.

I suspect the largest, and therefore the most connected corporations facing unrealistic gov regulations agree because these new regulations squash out less established competitors. The large corps. maintain their cozy government relationships knowing they won't need to meet these regulations. Smaller companies bail out due to inability to meet the standards. The big ones, also not able to meet the new regs, continue business as usual. The only change is the government has picked the winners. Smaller companies aren't solvent enough, or connected enough and eventually disappear.
The big companies win by the elimination of competition. Kind of how independent businesses were forced to close while the giants remained open during the covid shut down.
I remember unrealistic Biden-era smog regulations for highway diesels being embraced by Cummins. They couldn't meet the new standards either. But, they were big enough to play along while smaller companies fell out. When the smoke cleared, Cummins benefitted with less competition. Kind of like Lowes, stayed open while the mom-n-pop hardware stores closed.
