The IDF and Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) on Tuesday night confirmed in a statement that they had captured Hamas’s head of internal security in the Gaza Strip in the first high-level capture operation deep in Gaza in a long time.

The official statement did not make any direct mention of Gaza gangs being central to the operation, though there was a hint with a reference to Shin Bet’s “special forces.”

However, The Jerusalem Post and other media have received clear indications, along with confirmations in foreign reports, that anti-Hamas Gaza gangs were at the heart of the operation, even while supported by the IDF and the Shin Bet.

Earlier in the day, an Israeli official told the Post that the captured terrorist is Mu’in al-Arabid, head of Hamas’s internal security apparatus, which would have made him one of the top security officials in the Strip.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz both sought to emphasize Arabid’s importance, with the prime minister saying he played a major role in managing the hiding of the over 250 Israeli hostages after October 7, 2023.

Hamas-type people are claiming that al-Arabid was just over Gaza City, not all of Hamas. I'll trust those who have been fighting him for 3 years over those embarrassed by his capture and the possibility that organized anti-Hamas resistance among Gaza residents played a part in his capture.

2 people killed and suspect is dead in downtown Minneapolis shooting

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Gunfire could be heard throughout a downtown Minneapolis apartment building as police responded to an active shooting Wednesday that left three people dead, including the suspect, and five others wounded, authorities said.

The five wounded by gunfire included two Minneapolis police officers, while a sixth person, another officer, suffered other injuries, police Sgt. Garrett Parten said at a news conference. All three officers are in stable condition, according to Hennepin County Medical Center.

A 911 call about shots fired at the building came in just after 4:30 p.m. Officers were dispatched and less than two minutes later they were inside the building and quickly found victims, said Interim Police Chief Bill Peterson.

Officers heard more gunshots and followed them to a higher floor, where they found “a haze that significantly limited their visibility,” he said. Peterson did not provide additional details about the haze.

One officer was shot in the leg and another was shot twice in the abdomen, he said. All three injured officers were expected to make a full recovery, he said.

Authorities did not provide any details about the suspected shooter but said they were familiar with the person before the shooting.

Two Gay Men Were Shot and Killed at a Bar in Arizona. Here's Why You Probably Didn't Hear About It.

There was a hate crime in Tucson, Arizona, on Monday. Two gay men at a bar were gunned down; the suspect had a list of other gay establishments around the city, so this has become a hate crime investigation. Two things will ensure this story is suffocated with a pillow.

The first is the most obvious: there are a lot of national stories dropping, including the new Venezuela oil deal, Canada freaking out over Lake Ontario’s name change, the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, Lindsay Clancy, and the upcoming GOP midterm convention in Dallas, Texas.

The second reason is the real reason why this story will be lost: the suspect was black, and as of now, there’s no evidence that he was a MAGA supporter. You know the game. If this were a white conservative Republican, many minutes would be devoted to this, part of the ongoing white supremacist and anti-LGBT terrorism that the Trump administration supposedly executes daily. The suspected shooter is also dead, having been taken into custody with gunshot wounds and later dying at the local hospital. We do not know if the wounds were self-inflicted (via NYT):

He had an address in Oklahoma City, according to public records, and had no criminal history beyond a speeding ticket in 2012. In 2018, he and his then-wife filed for bankruptcy, court records show. Attempts to reach her were unsuccessful. The petition stated that Mr. Ceesay was briefly employed as an Uber and Lyft driver.

Mayor Regina Romero of Tucson called Monday’s shooting a “direct and devastating attack on our L.G.B.T.Q. community” in a video statement she posted on social media. “This tragedy is another painful reminder that homophobia is still rampant in our country,” she added.

Monica Prieto, chief of the Tucson Police Department, said in a statement that “bias-based crimes are especially heinous and have no place in our community.”Mayor Regina Romero of Tucson called Monday’s shooting a “direct and devastating attack on our L.G.B.T.Q. community” in a video statement she posted on social media. “This tragedy is another painful reminder that homophobia is still rampant in our country,” she added.

It was later confirmed on Wednesday that the shooting was officially classified as a hate crime.

But the suspect was not white, so this gets buried six feet under.

Neighbors Warned Police That Minnesota Mass Shooter Repeatedly Threatened Violence

The man who killed two people and injured half a dozen others before turning the gun on himself in Minneapolis on Wednesday was facing eviction after committing assault and repeatedly threatening people with a gun at his apartment complex. People at the complex had even called police on him, but of course, he wasn’t in jail, because Minnesota often allows violent criminals to remain free while awaiting trial.

CBS News identified the alleged killer's name. The police chief in Minneapolis had acknowledged at a press conference that he was familiar with the shooter, indicating a prior crime history, but he did not state a name. CBS claims multiple law enforcement sources have since contacted the outlet to provide Johnson’s name. Alpha News claimed to have obtained Johnson’s eviction notice and stated that he had numerous crimes on his record dating back to 2011, including “domestic abuse, domestic assault, drug paraphernalia, and numerous citations for driving with a suspended license.” ...

The purported eviction notice lists a series of incidents instigated by Johnson dating back to January of this year, including a March assault on a fellow resident, a June visit to the office where he aggressively displayed his gun to staff, and another June incident where Johnson told multiple other people he was going to kill someone with his new gun.

Why do I suspect that Walz's and Frey's Minneapolis DA's office is too busy searching for ways to prosecute ICE officers doing their lawful duty to get thuglings like this guy off Minneapolis streets. Had this guy been behind bars as he clearly should, two now-former neighbors would still be alive.

This attack harkens back to Omar Mateen in 2016:

On June 12, 2016, approximately 300 people were at the Pulse Nightclub in Orlando, Florida. Just after 2 a.m., Omar Mir Seddique Mateen opened fire, shooting staff and patrons.

What began as an active shooter situation later turned into a hostage-taking situation when the perpetrator barricaded himself and victims in a bathroom. Around 5 a.m., law enforcement officers killed the shooter.

In total, 49 victims were murdered, and 58 others were wounded.

During the rampage, the shooter made three 911 phone calls from the club, beginning at about 2:30 a.m. In the calls, he claimed allegiance to several individuals: the leader of the so-called Islamic State (ISIL), the perpetrators of the 2013 Boston Marathon attack, and a Florida man who died as a suicide bomber in Syria for a terrorist group in conflict with ISIL.

The FBI concluded the attack was an act of terrorism—the worst on U.S. soil since September 11, 2001. In March 2026, the Pulse Nightclub building was torn down, with plans for a permanent memorial to open in 2027.

Wow: Maria Bartiromo Out at Fox

Surprising news on Thursday regarding Fox Business' Maria Bartiromo.

She has reportedly parted ways with Fox, according to a statement from the company.

The statement said she was "no longer with Fox News Media." “We thank Maria for her work over the last 12 ½ years and wish her all the best on her next chapter,” the statement concluded.

Can it get any briefer or more cold than that? What the heck happened? That's not the way you would usually treat someone who has been there for 12 1/2 years.

Vanity Fair's Aidan McLaughlin said he was told she was not leaving for a job in the Trump administration.

So she isn't going to be the new White House Press Secretary, if that report is right. I don't think she'd be interested in that in any event.

She joined Fox Business Network and Fox News in early 2014 after leaving CNBC.
