This

-tale is either false or likely to have been in winter 2020-2021.
The DU OP leaves out the time frame. In winter 2020-2021, many/most hospitalized with Covid did die. Part of what the DU OP left out is that Covid vaccines were not authorized until mid-December 2020, 3 or 4 weeks into the winter.
While the Feds distributed vaccines efficiently TO states, many states, who due to Federalism had the responsibility to organize and carry out distribution WITHIN states, were very inefficient and slow (California was among the worst). Most/all states also initially restricted vaccinations by age, 70 or 75 being typical minimum ages. By California regs, I was not allowed to be vaccinated until March 2021. I got and was hospitalized with Covid in January 2021.
What makes me suspicious that this

-tale is

-fiction is that there was a similar, fictional, tale circulating a few years ago by a supposed nurse to the effect that unvaccinated Covid patients on ventilators gasped out their last breath saying they wish they had gotten vaccinated. The supposed nurse was found to be lying about what she did, and person on a ventillator would being unable to speak, because they would be intubated. This DU

makes the nurse unidentifiable, and avoids the intubation problem. Honesty not being common in DU

-tales, I'd put that chances of this being

-fiction at 75%-80%.
