After hearing in the news about all these planned data centers its got me wondering just what data will they be storing?
Will it be consumer data, like what kind of shampoo you use or will it be a more nefarious use tied to surveillance cameras, license plate readers etc?
Am I being paranoid or what?
Not to fear. They already have existed for decades. Every e-mail, text message, and website have been stored in "The Cloud" since the expansion of the internet in the late 90s and early 2000s.
That being said, I am a bit dubious about AI and its economic impact. But it is the "hot chick in Hollywood" for the moment. I'm also concerned about its insidious effect to make stupid people appear ostensibly smarter by using it.
Personally do a LOT of research for my various professions, and I absolutely know how to fool Google AI, ChatGPT, Claude, etc. It takes a person with a more than a modicum of intellect to chide these AI into giving the wrong answer.
Remember the "Dot.com" era in the early 2000's? 3/4th of those startups if not more failed miserably.
