This is probably going to be, for the most part, not popular,

but, I'm going to say it anyways and those who disagree with my thoughts I respect, even if I may not agree with you, so here goes.

Given the threat against Dems, Progressives, etc, and the violence so far, I say let's start arming up and learning CQC, (Close Quartar Combat) skills for if, or, when it comes to that.
We cannot let the RWNJ, religious fanatics, MAGAt's, etc., take control via violence, we've all seen what that leads to.

Post for or against this, I welcome with equal respect.

Edit: Against my better judgement, I've purchase the firearms I'm most familiar with during my time in the Corps, an AR-15 modified, and when I say modified, I mean the addition of a fore grip on the barrel shroud of it, in case any asshole BATFE agent is reading this, a 1945 Colt .45 ACP and an M-14 rifle, the first rifle I carried in Vietnam.

On Edit: Just to clarify to everyone here and those that are or might be monitoring this site, in no way am I urging any violence, I abhor violence and all that it entails.

IIRC, the M-14 fired a 30-06 or 7.62x51mm cartridge. So he's probably trying to make a semi-automatic deer rifle owned by many hunters sound militaryish. Similarly, his "AR-15 modified" may just be a deer and varmint rifle chambered in .223.

Men who served in Vietnam are in their 70s or older, and if he really carried an M-14 in Vietnam, MarineCombatEngineer may be in his 80s. His bluster suggests to me that his bluster is bigger than what he was and, courtesy of his age and probable health, even less. The 7.62x51 is 0.308, the 30-06 is 7.62x63.  His major modification was putting the foregrip on the AR-15. Personally I like the angled grips and they’re legal on pistols also

I have several M1A's which is the civilian equivalent (scary military looking) select fire delete version of the M-14 they all fire the 7.62x51mm NATO or .308 cartridge.
