Caitlin Clark Goes Ballistic on Refs After Getting Kneed in the Quad on ANOTHER Dirty Play

Quote
Caitlin Clark went absolutely off on officials following a painful no-call that left her dealing with a quad contusion during the Indiana Fever’s loss to the Golden State Valkyries on Wednesday night.

The WNBA superstar was visibly frustrated after getting kneed in the leg by Golden State veteran Kiah Stokes. Clark had to briefly limp off to the locker room but returned to finish the game, posting 13 points and six assists while clearly playing through pain.

“I got kneed right in the quad, that hurts, the ref can’t miss that,” she told reporters. “And then I have to play with a contusion in my leg for the rest of the game. Ridiculous, you can’t miss calls like that.”

Clark Confronts an Official on the Floor
That clip of Clark yelling straight into the ref’s face blew up instantly online. It turned into the usual online food fight. A lot of fans cheered her on for finally calling out the lack of protection, especially with how often she’s on the receiving end of extra contact. Others slammed her for making a scene and acting too emotional about it.

To be fair, Clark’s reaction was a bit over the top this time. The no-call was wrong. But the tantrum-throwing was a bit much. Complain about it after the game and take your fine.

I disagree with the last sentence I quoted. Clark and the fever have done what the author advised for nearly 3 seasons of hrossly obvious no-calls and infractions being minimized. Calling out the refs on-court has become necessary. I don't follow the WNBA, but the league seems to be playing along with the quasi organized cabal of brutalizing Clark for being white, straight, and successful. That she has been a huge part of attendance and TV audience surges exacerbates the hatred. They are forcing on her the dilemma of risking serious injury every time she steps on the court or leaving the career she has built for two decades and dearly loves. With either outcome, the bigots will find their victory Pyrrhic. Either way, the WNBA will recede back into semi-obscurity.

Of course, my opinion and a tenner will get you a latte and change at a Dutch Bros.

I hope she leaves the NBA heavily subsidized WNBA, or BLBA (Black Lesbian Basketball Association) for Europe, where she would be better appreciated and well-compensated. For full disclosure, Caitlin went to the same high school as my late father, although when my Dad attended the boys went to one school and the girls (my two aunts included) attended St. Joseph's Academy, but they were all part of the same school.

While I do like women's college basketball at least a little bit, although it pales in comparison to the men's NCAA hoops, the WNBA and NBA are on my must ignore list. The NBA was at least entertaining through the in the Jordan/Bird/Magic era, and for maybe a decade afterwards. Now it just advanced thuggery, and that isn't racist because the white European players and American players are just as guilty of such thuggery.
