The Department of Homeland Security blasted Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN) and the Minnesota Clemency Review Commission for granting a pardon to Tou Lue Vang, a man convicted of first-degree criminal sexual conduct of a 10-year-old girl in 2006. Minnesota’s Board of Pardons, on its Clemency Review Commission, includes Walz, Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison, and Justice Natalie Hudson. Vang was set to be deported to Laos, according to the DHS. However, his pardon was issued on June 10, 2026, a week before he was supposed to be deported. Now, the pardon could reportedly “thwart his removal from the United States.”
On Tuesday, California’s State Senate’s Elections Committee rejected a proposal (AB 2753) by vote of 2-1-2. The proposal would have banned registered sex offenders and human traffickers from running for public office in California. Specifically, Republican State Senator Steven Choi and Democrat San Diego State Senator Sabrina Cervantes backed the proposal, while Democrat San Francisco State Senator Scott Wiener voted against it. The remaining two Democrats abstained. The Committee is chaired by Wiener (D-CA) and requires a majority vote to approve proposals. The bill was introduced after a registered sex offender tried to run for Fresno City Council, California. At present, California law disqualifies candidates convicted of various felonies, such as bribery, extortion, perjury, embezzlement, and conspiracy to commit said felonies, but not sex offenses. The State Assembly had unanimously approved the measure before it was blocked by the Committee. “This is potentially a very dangerous road we’re going down to say that ‘minor crimes’ are going to ban you for life for running for office,” said Wiener in an interview with ABC10, justifying his position.
The Democratic nominee in Colorado's competitive Eighth Congressional District, Manny Rutinel, helped kill legislation that would have imposed mandatory prison sentences on pedophiles convicted of crimes such as having sex with child prostitutes and pimping minors.The 2024 bill would have slapped adults convicted of crimes involving child prostitutes with at least four years in prison for class-three felonies—like soliciting—and eight years for class-two felonies like coercing a minor into prostitution. But Rutinel joined his fellow Democrats on the house State, Civic, Military and Veterans Affairs Committee to kill it before it even made it to the full floor.
❓ WHAT HAPPENED: Texas Democrat Senate candidate James Talarico has come under fire after accepting large donations from billionaire connected to Jeffrey Epstein. 📺 DETAIL: Last week, it was revealed that James Talarico, Democrat candidate for the 2026 Senate election in Texas, took money from Reid Hoffman, a billionaire with connections to Jeffrey Epstein. Hoffman donated $11.5 million to Lone Star Rising, a super PAC supporting Talarico. He donated $10 million in June, approximately 80 percent of the PAC’s funds during the second quarter. Hoffman also made the maximum legal amount of $7,000 to Jon Ossoff, the Democrat Senator seeking re-election in Georgia. Hoffman is widely known as co-founder of LinkedIn, a networking and job search platform. Hoffman met Epstein in July 2013, almost five years after Epstein pleaded guilty to charges of soliciting and procuring a minor for prostitution. He also visited Epstein’s island in 2014. That same year, according to The Wall Street Journal, Hoffman sent ice cream to Epstein, writing that it was for him and “the girls.” The following year, Hoffman attended a dinner with Epstein with several other high-profile figures, including Mark Zuckerberg, Elon Musk, and Peter Thiel. Hoffman has admitted that he “helped to repair [Epstein’s] reputation and perpetuate injustice.”
In a case of queer overreach so extreme that even the far-left Denver Public Schools board was forced to act, a lesbian-identifying Colorado teacher was fired this spring after repeatedly pressuring students to kiss same-sex classmates during supposedly instructional classroom skits.Teacher Jennifer Honka was employed for the past eight years to teach French Language and Culture at Northeast Early College (NEC), a high school which is part of the Denver Public Schools district.Tales of Honka’s inappropriate kissing assignments were a topic of gossip at the school going back several years. They were part of classroom skits engineered by the teacher to allegedly teach students about French language and culture. The skits were given titles such as “The Neighbors Saw Everything” and “The Boring Kiss,” and focused on characters who were dating. “The script for ‘The Boring Kiss’ includes three different moments when the characters are directed to kiss each other,” CBS News reported, making kissing a central feature of the assignment.
While taking a hard line on Hendrix’s speech, the judge who ordered the sentencing in the Hendrix case, Christa Daily, has a track record of granting outrageous plea deals, letting convicted sex offenders off with light punishments and little to no jail time.In January 2023, 54-year-old Thomas Lee Meyer was charged with possession of child pornography following an investigation by the Rochester Police Department. Investigators discovered “several child sexual abuse images of juveniles ranging in age from 6 to 8 years old” at Meyer’s residence. Meyer confessed to law enforcement that “he viewed thousands” of such images on his phone.According to Minnesota law, possession of child sexual abuse material when the victim is less than 14 is a felony with a maximum penalty of a 10-year jail sentence or a $10,000 fine or both. But Daily allowed a plea deal that had a “stay of imposition for four felony charges of possessing pornographic work and dismisse[d] six other similar felony charges.” The deal let Meyer complete probation, a sex offender program, and 100 days of community service and have his felony charges dropped to misdemeanors. Daily did not have Meyer serve any jail time.
