The general attitude of Democrats who support Platner seems to be that he is permissable as a candidate because we are in desperate times (that's the same argument they always use to gloss over their candidates' flaws, but let's ignore that for a second).

The truth is, their party has always had shitty people in it. Platner's emergence just made it impossible to ignore.

I rest my case. It seems some in the Democratic Party not only want us to look the other way with regards to Platner's past, but to view such things as normal.

I would add, some of the things Platner is accused of far exceed toxic behavior, and truly abusive.
