Some Friends, Eh.

Over on a busy social media site I use. I mentioned that I was home from the hospital after being treated for a flare-up of COPD.

I have lots of friends there, or what that site calls people who follow you. My favorite eply about content about being glad I was home was this statement. "Well, you deserved t9hat for your filthy habit! Maybe it will get you next time." There were others that were similar. Who does that? Friends?

Nothing like that here on DU. THANK GOODNESS.

I'm not sure what you're even talking about 🙄

MM is a very-recently-former smoker who has what was once called emphysema and is now called COPD. Given DU-grade Progs' virtue-signal of cutting off family and friends with differing political POVs, MM's mocker is probably a Prog virtue-signaling their tobacco-free superior virtue.

I've never been a smoker, but my parents, in the 1960s, were 2-3 pack a day smokers. In the mid-late 1960s they both quit cold-turkey, no assistance (gums and patches had not yet been invented). It was a bit of a struggle for them. OTOH, the husband of my Dad's sister was a more or less life-long smoker who worked in his barber shop into his 70s with an O2 tank next to him, while still smoking (being careful not to smoke near the O2). I don't need - nor want - to mock smokers or former smokers.
If The Vaccine is deadly as anti-Covid-vaxxers claim, millions now living would have died.

I inferred that RockHead was a smoker, hence the COPD, but giving my lack of caring about DUmmies' medical issues was not aware.

As a fellow smoker, although not like ye' olden days of the Baby Boom Generation as I go through 4 to 5 packs a week. Several of my aging friends used to smoke 3-4 packs a day. Was going to quit after I turned 50, and had mentally planned that. Well, ****ing China unleashed the Wuhan Red Death and there was no way I could quit in 2020. And you're welcome America, as I pay a shit-load of federal and state "sin" taxes.

Sanctimonious former smokers are the absolute worst. Back in the days when we could smoke indoors, I knew one particular former avid smoker who always gave me an angry glance when I lit up.

Well, I hope Rock-Head survives to entertain us with his/her/its idiocy for decades to come.
